Girls, Gaming, and Dating
Hey everybody. I had a conversations started in another thread and we (myself and RedScar) thought it be more appropriate to start another thread.
So if anyone has any thoughts about the 3: girls, gaming, dating, then let us know what's on your mind. Also, anything about getting gaming girls to go on dates or come out of their shells would be most appreciated |

1. Stop refering to us as a special event item :P
2. get to know the girl you like. 3. If you both realise you have a lot in common and you want to take it to the next level ask her out. |

*Star Ocean 3 ~ Till the End of Time, on women in general*
Sophia: "You'd rather play video-games than come and hang out with me..." Get the idea? You have to live your life for your woman, or at least make her think you do, in order to impress her. |

I'm not referring to women as "items" or "things" or "some sort of property". I totally don't want this to go in that direction. I wanna nip this one in the bud early.
And I'm not about to go off the deep end for a woman, or anyone. I'm a quirkyalone. I'm just wondering how some of these couples get started and am thinking about persuing something of the sort. |

My woman's great, and although she's not a gamer, she does like to watch me play them. I mean, I can't spend the ENTIRE time doing (Remainder of this phrase removed for the sake of the forum)
She loves True Crime: Street of LA, because it's pretty damn funny. -Runs over an old man- [Kang] I didn't do it! Scout's honor!

A few rules
1 - all the good ones are taken 2 - all the available ones just want to be friends. 3 - And when you DO find that perfect girl, turns out she's a stalker. 4 - If you, by some miracle, happen to find a gaming girl who's single but won't find where you work without you telling her, either ask her out before some other schmoe does or make sure you can become friends REAL fast.

Not true! the women around here (I should say girls or ladies, really) who game also date us nerds. they aren't that rare, and they are usually not nearly as possesive as non gamer chicks. my ex, Becky, got me hooked on gaming. I met my Fiancee gaming, too! all this is pretty common, really.
part of the reason i perfer game girls, is that non gamer chicks dont get our jokes. we may reference anything, from DND to Soul Calibur 2, and our friends and girls understand. we like being understood, don't we? This leads into my next point: Why in the infinite layers of the abyss do we go after girls so out of our range? you know, the preppy blonde supermodel types. except on the rare occasion they game, they wont even speak to us. my little friend Laefer was lucky enough to hook one of these girls, so power to him. i got a pretty red head myself. and to all who are offended by the way females are portrayed in this seeming speech: I had to phrase it somehow, and this was the easiest way for me. so if anyone wants to pollitically correct my statements, go ahead. I am a male, and a jerk, so sorry for the phrasing. |

Chronotrigger - my point for quoting all that was: I was JOKING 'special event item'? Dude, that was clearly a play on 'stop treating women like objects'... deary me. I wasn't seriously saying you womanize - chill. ANYHOO - I'd listen to the people that have posted so far, they have said decent stuff. We are not a scarce phenominum. How about joining a local gaming club? You might meet gals through that? |

no. you only get the uber geeks there. you have to meet them through other friends, and friends of friends. i men, look at the network I have. My network spreads through Canada, all the way to Oklahoma in the states. I have set up a pair in quebec and texas. i also set up my cousin 'OrcBane' with a nice little blonde gamer armed with a quick wit and a sharp tongue.
of course, she was one of my ex's. *wink* female gamers tend to be a bit more indepth and 'below the surface' ee, they also are more loyal than the others anyway. stick with it! |
