Default Squidi makes good on threat, starts making comics again

Who woulda thunk it?

I guess that awesome MMORPG he was gonna make to show those mean ol' Warcraft guys for not inviting him to their party, that didn't pan out after all.

For every Squidi idea, there is an even better idea he'll have next week.

I might start reading Squidi again. I liked his comic alot, but during his stupid "War of Fate" storyline it all turned into a drama, and honestly, you can't turn a comedy into a drama like THAT.

Besides; he stopped being funny around then too.

Seconded. It's possible to turn a humor comic into a drama, but the way Squidi did it, he should have just started a new comic with new characters.

I quit reading after A Modest Destiny ended and whatever that space one was called started and I didn't like it (which was a really long time ago now that I think about it). But this zombies one has made me want to read his site again.

It's this comic entry that made me chuckle. Every comic should have at least ONE yoda quote, even if yoda hasn't been read about before (EG: On Gaia in 8-bit psycho land.)

I don't understand how he can just up and end this zombies one like that. Thirty episodes?! And it was good too! Oh well, Squidi is a fickle art god.

Unless I misread his "ZotLD is OVER" as something else from what he meant.

Nah. He's kinda like the ADD kid of webcomics. He'll take one idea, see it half-way through, find something else, wrap the first idea up and move on. I like his comics, but I can't stand reading like that. It's like trying to read a book three or four pages at a time.

It's like reading a book that is three or four pages long, period.

So, in essence, a short story. And I never cared for those. Damn you Squidi. And what does AMPD stand for?

I am so done with squidi's style of dialog. Maybe I'm all doped up on Brian's irreverant quick-draw banter and also idiot-talk in 8BT, but the dialog of ZotLD, and anything after AMD basically, was too predictable, and the humour is just too cliche... I mean, if you're entering a dramatic moment, be dramatic. Don't sully it with an attempt at being funny. Or, at the very least, give us the pun at the end of the comic where it fits. Bottem line - He just isn't that good of a writer. Not clever, not funny.

I mean, for a guy with a history of beliving he's got the most brilliant thing to hit the internet IF ONLY WE'D UNDERSTAND, he's got a lot lacking. I would read squidi for the art and the art alone. I will concede that he had very good concepts, but his attention span and talent in general just don't allow him, it seems to me, to fit the webcomic world as both artist and writer. (Esspecially becuase you face a limit in visual expressiveness when working in pixel art, you need good writing)

Also he is kind of a jerk and I once threw a fit at him, so it's easy for me to be critical of him?

EDIT: This is a little blurb from his blog that illustrates why he shouldn't be writing anything

Please rest assured that the context is fairly innocent, but Holy-Bad-Analogy, Batman! Could he have picked a worse gross thing?

EDIT II: I keep finding really good reasons to not change my opinion of squidi for the better.

1. interesting usage of copyrighted material not squidi's
2. alienating and steriotyping a very large cross-section of the population.

Okay, what the hell is cotton candy child porn and why is Squidi swept away by it? It's got to be something different than what I'm thinking.

Seriously, they'd put Squidi in jail. Like a special jail.
