Default NPF Avatars 5.... FOR FIGHTING!

Because most of you wanted it, I shall begin sign-ups for the next chapter of the NPF Avatars RP metaseries, to be lorded over with a first forged from some metallic substance by myself and PhoenixFlame. The setting revolves around the sequel to the Avatar Arena RP from about a year back, though it will operate differently in many respects.

For a refresher course, you may read the rules to the original here, as well as my summary of the RP here.

There will be changes to the system. Firstly, the battle locations will be equally hazardous to both combatants, as opposed to giving an advantage to one fighter over the other.

Two other major changes regard weapons. In the last tournament, a number of folks were turned off by the game's "no outside weapons" rule, because their fighting abilities completely revolved around the use of some sort of weapon. For these people, the "Weapon-Based Power" rule will be in effect, allowing an agreed-upon limit to the weapon they are allowed to bring into the ring with them. People without weapon-based powers will not be allowed to bring anything in, naturally.

The other weapon rule deals with the randomly assigned wacky weapons. In Raiden and Rhiya's tourny, a list of silly weapons and items were generated by our favorite thunder god and randomly assigned to each fighter before the round began. This is mostly still in effect except we have decided that, instead of coming up with zany made-up weapons that will never appear again, it will be required that each participant submit a signature weapon or item that will be randomly assigned to another player during each fight. By "signature", we mean that it must somehow relate to your character, be it part of their arsenal, a reference to past events, or even something peripherally related to who or what you are. If nothing comes to mind, no matter how hard you try, PM one of us and arrangements can be made.

The catch phrase feature from the previous tournament has been dropped, which is funny because it was my idea way back then. I even compiled the whole list of phrases that Rhiya doled out to everyone.

There will be time limits. They will be totally arbitrary, based on either the fight running too long and we need to move the plot, or if you're just completely boring. We will decide a winner based on how well you fought up to that point, or random chance, or if we just don't like you. Jerks.

Also, you may opt to take part in the RP as a noncombatant in the tournament. This is boring and we'll try as hard as we can to convince you otherwise. If you're dead set on it, fine, but you won't be nearly as cool as we thought you were.

Profiles are preferred as follows:

NAME: What the hell name you go by, preferably somehow based around your username.
COMPETING?: Yes or no answer as to whether or not you're taking part in the tournament, followed by a brief explanation of what the hell you're doing here if you aren't. More than likely, you will be spectators unless you come up with something that we think is just totally awesome. Or we'll make you fight the bear.
CLASS: A term that you feel would best sum up your whole deal. It doesn't actually have to be based in any class system we've ever seen before. I'm more just curious as to how you'd classify yourself.
APPEARANCE: What you look like. Detail is great, but not necessary. At least try to make it clear what species and gender you are.
WEAPON-BASED POWER?: For competitors who wish to apply for a weapon-based power exemption, reply "yes" and we will deal with you accordingly. If not, say "no". Shouldn't be too confusing. If you're a non-com, you can delete this category entirely.
ABILITIES: What the hell you can do. As much detail as possible would be appreciated here, because not listing everything you're capable of can cause series drama down the road when you bust out some move that you there's no evidence of you ever having up to the point you performed it. We have some leeway in creative uses of stated powers, of course, but just deciding that you can throw fireballs for no clear reason is not so good.
ITEM SUBMISSION: If you are competing in the tournament, you will need to submit an item. This is where you say what it is and what it does. Non-coms can just delete this category as well.

NAME: Pedro O'Sullivan
COMPETING?: No, conflict of interest. Will be acting as host of the events.
CLASS: Capitalist
APPEARANCE: Human male. 5'10", 145 lbs, long brown hair, pale skin, hazel eyes, and typically dressed in black and grey business attire and a long black overcoat.
ABILITIES: A vast fortune, remarkable intellectual and strategic talents, extreme sociopathy with tendancy for sadistic violence, the full resources of POS Industries Int'l (a vast corporate conglomerate which, after the events of Avvy III, owns about half of NPF City in one way, shape, or form as well as the entirety of Gaia Online), adept training in classical fencing, and about ninety some-odd extra lives.
ITEM SUBMISSION: Despite his not competing, Pedro has decided that a show of good faith is in order and will be submitting the famed Ring of Heart, which can temporarily purify the soul of its target. POS uses it to makes naive rubes out of dimwits. The effect also causes a brief disorientation as the target sorts out what's going on with their feelings.

NAME: Pyros Neinian Nine (F*cking was removed in order to avoid the M rating.)
COMPETING?: Heck yes! I wants sum prize money, and RESPEKT! Also, to rub my victories in other peoples faces.
CLASS: Fire Mage O'doom that is somewhat almost pretty much godlike.
APPEARANCE: Long brown hair that is even LONGER than the last RP True Pyros featured in, that goes down to feet. Pyros been growing it out, yo. Underneath this waterfall of hair is a knockoff of King's leather battle armor, which has chainmail enmeshed in the leather and can mysteriously hold swords on it's back without any aid despite gravity, Pyros's movement, and/or it being a really big weapon.
WEAPON-BASED POWER?: Nein!
ABILITIES: I can hurl fireballs for no particular reason. Other than for any reason a Fire Angel can hurl fire instead of just making it uncomfortably 1 degree above room temperature. Which I can also do, but choose to make it uncomfortable with a couple 1000 degrees above room temperature. Complete and utter control of fire, unless I am against a fire using person, where I will be honorable and let him/her be fiery against me but I cannot guarrantee it will actually hurt. Similarly, I would have to REALLY really roast someone who used fire as their magic or weapon in order to harm them, Like a mage or a guy in an asbestos suit with a flamethrower, but if they were someone more magically linked with fire it'd be the same deal as throwing fire at me. So, Fisticuffs! Shapeshifting skills usually used for a nomcombative effect (I.e. no growing claws to scratch to death or becoming a giant, but perhaps being a duplicate of opponent to psyche them out or gain an agility advantage)

Beyond this, for fair fighting Pyros has mere (relative to comics and magic stories) superhuman strength and speed. No hurling mountains at people or moving faster than the eye can see.
ITEM SUBMISSION: Pyros's Ball o'death. Randomly (GM's choice) becomes at the start of battle one of three items, as a materialization of Pyros's ability to summon his weapons with fire:

1. The Flametongue: A large blade with a wicked forked end that looks like a serpent's tongue. When swung, flame also sent out, it's amount and temperature relative to how powerful or quick the swing.

2. Asheth's Bracelets: Magical bracelets with float about the wrist, and enhance and focus magical abilities to the point of providing long range elemental magical blasts and a wider range to spell effects. Also enable the user to float a maximum of 20 feet above the ground at will. Normally requires constant magic consumption in order to float, but as a show of good will the bracelets have been fitted with a magic storing gem to allow even non magic folk to float freely, although they cannot shoot magic without any actual magic power of their own.

Inexhaustible bowl: Filled with a neverending supply of Meow Mix mixed with Beggin Strips, and even a side slot which pours out an endless fountain of Hawaiian punch. Vwoot! Besides it's obvious anti-hunger crisis powers, it's also indestructible, although it's about the size of your average fruit bowl.

NAME: Hawk.
COMPETING?: Absolutely.
CLASS: Wind elemental (Cursed form), weaponmaster (Human form).
APPEARANCE: A small brown hawk (Cursed form).
Human form: 5'8, short dark hair. Wears a plain black t-shirt, a dark jacket and jeans, and black steel toe capped boots.
WEAPON-BASED POWER?: Yes, in human form.
ABILITIES: Complete control of the wind and air; Hawk can cast up galeforce winds, fire spheres of concussive air, create tornados and hurricanes and can also affect other elements by utilizing the wind (quenching or spreading flames, blowing up sand, snow or water to obscure enemies vision, etc.)
Elemental shot; He can also use his air blasts to pull other elements into the spheres he creates and use elemental shots (such as drawing fire into the oxygen rich spheres and creating fireballs, or pulling snow falling from the sky and crushing it into a solid shot). It should be noted that his air blasts also cause small vacuums as the air is pulled inwards and crushed (So he could choke you by simply creating a sphere near your head and ripping away you oxygen supply).
Flight; Can fly, obviously.
Speed/agility; He can also use the wind to control his movements, allowing him incredible speed and agility.
Windshield; A new ability that allows Hawk to form a barrier of solid air around him, stopping incoming projectiles.
Hightened senses; Hawk hearing and sight, including perfect nightvision.
Telepathy; Hawk has no vocal cords in cursed form and so uses short range, line of sight telepathy to communicate. Can be directed at everyone in general or just at a single person.
Talons; His only weapons in this form.
Shapeshifting; Can now transform into...

Human form; His only abilities in this form are his hand to hand combat skills (he is versed in all forms of martial arts, and some unknown ones), and his weapon skills (there isn't a weapon made that Hawk cannot use with unnatural perfection). This training also makes him somewhat more able to deliver and take blows and damage, or at least more so than an average human.
ITEM SUBMISSION: Hawkwind feather. A feather from Hawks own tail, whoever posseses it is granted a weaker control over the wind than Hawk himself posseses. Up to POS how much control to allow it to give.


NOTE: Yes I know I haven't yet introduced Hawks human form in the other RP, but I figure that if this is set after the events of Avatars IV then I really should have that form already. POS do you need to see my intended character sheet for human form so you can see why I request weapon-based power rule?

I've also upped Hawks power over the wind and added a few new abilities so I can actually match some of you guys in combat. Hope it's all ok.

NAME: Incendius

COMPETING?: Yes

CLASS: Incarnate of Thought

APPEARANCE: Incendius doesn't actually have a physical form, however in order to affect the physical world he needs to inhabit something. In his case, it is a white ivory mask and very long black silk robes.

The mask has three eyes painted on it; the two normal eyes are painted deep blue. The third eye, which is placed vertically instead of horizontally on the mask, is emerald green.

WEAPON-BASED POWER?: No

ABILITIES: Telepathy: Seeing as Incendius doesn't actually have any organic capabilities, and that he is an incarnate of pure thought, he has an unmatched proficiency in telepathic communications and assaults. While any NPF member is far from week enough to be dominated mentally, his psionic assaults are still extremely powerful, and it is not wise to bait him into a battle of the mind.

Telekinesis/Energy Drain: Normally, one such as Incendius can't effect the physical world; however by inhabiting a body and through energy drain Incendius can manipulate his thought, in the form of telekinesis, onto the world. In order to power his telekinesis, he needs to draw power from outside sources, as explained he doesn't have the capabilities himself.

In most circumstances, Incendius draws off heat from the air and converts that into energy to move his inhabited body and perform his stunts. Thus he is limited while facing normal opponents, as he needs to manage his energy expenditure and consumption.

When facing an opponent with attacks that can be converted into energy, such as electricity, Incendius would not be able to negate the attacks or diminish them much, but he would be able to draw power from them greater then normal to backlash in kind.

ITEM SUBMISSION: Focusing Crystal: A focusing crystal does a very simple thing; for mages, psions, or other mentally inclined person, if their attacks are redirected through the crystal their force is multiplied. For a melee invidual, a focusing crystal can meld into a body part, or whole body, and greatly increase speed or strength.

NAME: Inbred Chocobo
COMPETING?: Yep
CLASS: Warrior
APPEARANCE: IC stands about 6 feet, weighing in at 160. He isn't bulky with muscles, but he is definitly ripped. He wears orange pants with an orange jackets, a brown shirt underneath, and has gloves and boots that are both brown. His hair is a brownish sort of color, and the headband helps keep it out of his eyes. Oh, and he has the tail of a chocobo.
WEAPON-BASED POWER?: No, surprisingly since IC is always seen with his weapon.
ABILITIES: IC is the physical warrior. His strength, speed, and stamina go unmatched, breaking limits that were once thought impossible. He has no magic within him, so abilities that abuse the magic within are completly ignored.

He does have a form inwhich he absorbs a demon that almost killed a god, but he needs the Wind Edge for it, and doing it is risky business. To get it started, you have to break with Wind Edge, which in and of itself requires tremendous force.
ITEM SUBMISSION: Wind Edge: A boomerange of sorts. It always returns to the user, and makes a good melee weapon too. Its immunity to magic also makes it scary. The demon sealed within the weapon has had its seal strengthened, so no dark power from the weapon however.

NOTES: For a while now IC has had special training. Specifically a Devil in hell named Jadarendir. The training there has given IC a good increase to strength and stamina, and an impressive increase to dexterity. Being exposed to such extreme temperatures for so long as given IC a nack for ignoring said temperatures. How far IC has progressed is anyone's guess, considering that he will be showing up to the tourney straight from hell, so only those that have been there recently will know.
