Doing things outside the control of their characters, consisting mainly of taking control of other people's characters and/or NPCs, claiming that they dodged or survived an attack that should have surely defeated them with great ease, or using abilities that were not in their character's profile. In an NPF Avatars RP, there is a certain amount of leeway for these sorts of things, but there are still limits. As an example, I had a player who attempted to use Dungeons & Dragons rules to go along with his character, which is fine. However, he seemed to have several classes combined together and failed to even list most of the ones he intended to use, namely Epic Rogue. The purpose of his claiming to use this class ended up coming down to his being able to "Epic Dodge" every turn by his own calculations, essentially granting him immortality. For this behavior, I allowed ruled against him in favor of Rhiya Ravenwing's attempt to rip his skull out. Eventually, I gave the play another shot but ended up having to ask him to leave, as he decided that his character could also levitate, another ability not declared in his profile.

Hmm... Very interesting Mr. POS. I dare say a very well-crafted story. I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm convinced, but you've done a very good job of preparing this. Let us go back then, shall we? Would you like to know my theory? I think that this is what happened: You mentioned just now that you stopped 'Godmodding', is this correct? And unless I'm mistaken, you also were at the apex of power when you closed down the latest Avatar battle thread? Which, at the time you were at god like status in? I believe you shut down that thread and blanketed a 6-month lockout of all avatar threads in your own best interest. You were so desperate to keep your power that you, at the apex, realized you were ready like the late kings of England - about to receive a coup. As my friend Franziska von Karma might say, "A foolish fool foolishly holds onto his foolishly foolish foolishness." You placed the deus ex machinae ending, as well as the blanket ban, to give yourself time to plot your next move at your god-like power. 'But Edgeworth!' you might say. 'I gave away all my power in the ending!' That is simply not the case. You, as a moderator of this game, escaped repercussion by cutting the game off at the last minute. Shirking responsibility, afraid of the loss of power? Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, these are irreprehensible crimes, ones that surely paint this man as incapable of taking position as a moderator. I'm sure he may have passed it off as a joke. But I assure you that it runs deeper than that. And that is that. Your Honor?

Hang on a sec there, Sparky. You're making a pretty bold accusation there. If you must know, I never once intended to have the Pedro O'Sullivan character win. As a final boss, his position has been more or less that of an NPC, an obstacle to be overcome by the players in the end. There is a means to ultimately defeating him that I had already planned and worked out with another one of the players. However, that player was not Newb, and his plan was doomed to failure. Furthermore, the players were not even at the final battle at the point of stopping the RP. They were, in fact, on the second out of three tiers of the battle with the character Rei. On yet another note, the last post in that thread was not a true ending, but merely a joke I threw in for the sake of amusement, which is easily inferred by reading the post itself. You're grasping at straws, Counselor.

I hope you can see now, Edgeworth. My client was merely doing his duty as the person running the game. He recognized that the game was wearing on people and, being the generous person he is, requested from the moderator that there be a temporary ban on the game, to let people rest, and that he assist my client in locking the old game so that there would not be someone to attempt to take out their frustration at an ended game on my client. Frustration which would have only bolstered the claim that the game needed a hiatus. There is a discussion thread for this sort of thing, but some people believe that the actual thread is the only place to maintain in-game workings. So you see, Edgeworth, you've only permitted bolstering of the defense's claims that my client is compassionate and knowledgeable of when something needs a break, and as such would be the ideal candidate for a moderation position. If my client's ending were a true ending to the series, would it not make more sense to impose a permanent ban, ensuring his ending was the only one there was forever? Your logic in this is, as my client stated, grasping at best. If he truly wanted to maintain power, which power-abusive people are known to do, Wouldn't he use the godly powers to ensure they simply could not reach him in-game? As such, I believe my client has only done a good job in stating his point of view and maintaining it, and as neither myself nor the prosecution knows much concerning the Roleplaying section, the defense requests new testimony from either the current witness, on the functioning of Ropleplaying games to determine whether his actions were appropriate, or from a new witness to testify about the function of Roleplaying games and whether or not my client's game was within those boundaries. Is this acceptable with you, Edgeworth and Your Honor?

I'm not entirely convinced by the defense's argument, but his point stands. We've had that rather stylish man on the podium for far too long! One more flash of his extravagant jewellry and I might just go blind. Edgeworth, you may call your first witness.

Say what you will, gentlemen. My theory still holds. (Damn it, they didn't go for it. Wonderful.) Very well Your Honor. The prosecution calls Moogle0119 to the stand.

Hey there! So apparently I got called in here to tell my tale of tragedy when I had to do business with POS Industries. As much as I'd hate to have to go through with this I believe there's really no other alternative at this point considering the further damage that may be caused if I don't speak up. This instance occured early in November of last year right before the last NPF Avatar game was to be held. I had spoken with POS Industries because I believed I had a great game idea in mind this time. I trusted POS Industries because I thought his reputation was good, however that turned out not to be the case. POS Industries had promised to help me out with the game details since I had yet to join in the Roleplay section of the forums but was quite interested since I was new. He said we would share GMing rights, as you can see though there is only one name on the list. Once I had told him all of my ideas he said he would make the post soon while crediting both of us for the idea. The post went up though, yet my name was not mentioned once. When I sent a PM to POS Industries concerning the error he told me that it was now his creation and his alone. When I asked him why he threatened to blackmail me with valuable information unless I cooperated with his scheme. I held my silence for this long out of fear of revenge, yet if he is alllowed to become moderator he will surely do the same to others because he is power-hungry and corrupt. Who knows how many others he may have done this too as well to try to climb his way to the top. POS Industries must be stopped!

My witness is done, Your Honor. Phoenix, watch your tongue. If you don't like what he says, get a bit more clarity out of him first before flinging your accusations and objections. I won't let you badger my witnesses again. Am I clear?

(B-but Finger-pointing and badgering are what I do best...) I shall begin pointing out this witness's flaws...When the Judge permits me to do so.
