Anyways, we can only keep bickering and old-man-grumbling for so long. If nothing else, we could just spar or something. Take an opportunity to show off our skills. I'll settle for whacking someone across the knees with that sword cane.

Too much awesome for such a small space. Oh well. You can still punch your mother...if you want... Fifth and Krylo made me do it. http://www.animecubed.com/billy/user...sigs/60266.jpg Be the Ultimate Ninja! Play Billy Vs. SNAKEMAN today! |

Assuming you can deal with *le gasp* another character, I have a proposal. If not, I shall lurk and make quasi-witty comments.
Name: Jaxye Markin de Ralste Cresevern Age: 22 Sex: Female Race: Human Appearance: Jaxye is a slight woman, of merely average height, with a frame that might be called scrawny if not for her broad shoulders and taut musculature. She is often mistaken for a girl of fifteen from behind, but from the front, her years are unmistakable- every year of her training left more scars on her arms and legs, and one particularly prominent one that sweeps across her left cheek, dangerously close to her eye. Thankfully, that blade missed, leaving her sharp, steel-grey eyes unmarred. Her face is likewise set in a determination that comes from a combination of experience, skill, and considerable good fortune- the kind of determination you see in the eyes of any good adventurer. She moves as she fights, with flashy, sweeping motions and showy bladework, in the style of the Academy Markin. When she wishes to be seen, it takes a Herculean effort not to notice her- her brash contralto has a way of carrying, her golden brown hair gets tossed to the light at all turns, and she duels in bell-sleeved tunics of bright colors (that often conceal a dagger or two). Her boots, however, are strictly business- knee-high to keep the elements from her feet, with just enough room to slip a dirk along her calf. It is this practical side that leads her to observation and introspection, yet she still falls short of nobility. She wears two tokens night and day- a pair of soft leather dueling gloves embossed with the crests Markin and a bloodstained strip of blue silk, which is either tied to her rapier's hilt or about her wrist in a symbol of fighting for another's honor. Skills: She is naturally left-hand dominant, which, although seemingly petty, gives her an inherent advantage against right-handed fighters. Of course, this dominance would mean nothing without the years of study she undertook both at the Academy Markin and with her late mentor Marius de Ralste. She has learned, in her years away from the Academy, to stalk her targets into a challenge, to relieve them of unbalancing equipment, and to creep away from the city guards that often accompany a victory in a duel. Weapons: A rapier inherited from her master, with a long, bloodstained piece of royal blue silk tied at the bottom of the hilt, which is a simple affair- no more than a pommel, a long and deadly-looking pair of cuillons*, and a martingale about the wrist. A pair of daggers, of excellent balance and edge. Their only distinguishing mark is that Jaxye wraps their hilts with a distinctive braid that leaves raised ridges of leather to improve their grip. A small case of throwing daggers, which she rarely, if ever, uses. A stiletto stuck into her boot, "just in case". Equipment: A pair of tan leather dueling gloves, embossed with an elaborate crest displaying a dragon rampant over crossed swords. Flashy, bell-sleeved tunics in vibrant hues- blue, magenta, violet, crimson. A "good-luck charm" she was given by her grandfather, a retired adventurer, before she left for the Academy Markin. Unbeknownst to her, it enhances her already keen reflexes. An all-weather grey cloak with large pockets on the inside. Her mentor's bracers, which are non-magical but tough enough to parry the flat of a blade. Quirks: She has an enduring focus on finding those who murdered her mentor in a fixed duel, which she blames herself for because she "wasn't strong enough". However, she can and will challenge nobles for the fun or the money, or infiltrate their homes for the challenge. *cuillons= probably misspelled, as I've only heard it said. They're essentially long cross-pieces at the hilt that serve as blade-trappers/breakers. You can see something similar to them here, but there would be no bell. The cuilloned dagger I fenced with was essentially a pair of cuillons on a stick, but the cuilloned rapier had what was essentially a sabre hilt. Last edited by Taliesin; 09-14-2006 at 10:16 PM. |

Why do new people always show up JUST after an RP starts? I SWEAR!!!
Well, nice character. But you did forget to place small text for an explanation as to what cullions were, especially since you put a * there and I'm curious myself and too lazy to check wikipedia. But anyway, in the RP Faze is now fully sober, and ready for hijinks. Hijinks that can only come from Spear innuendos and awkward moments with the female players! Also, the first person who tries to make Faze bow gets a spear in 'em. See? A possible innuendo right there!

You're supposed to take a knee, not bow.

I would just like to say that I am infact, crazy, and entitled to 3 paragraph long posts about bowing to some monarchaic figure.

Well, I'll make good on my promise of quasi-witty comments, then. ^^
Cuillon-thing edited. Guess it's easy to miss at 1:30 am my time. Don't get why they're so hard to describe... they're not the easiest thing to fence with, and I'd say it's easier to fence them than to describe them. |
