For Rob, I'd say a few people in SECA or the Society, but not necessarily the main characters, may know of him just from the fact that he's been hunting for three years now.
As for knowing him being assigned as a Protector, the people from the Wardens would probably know he's there, but everyone else might not know. He was convinced to join by many of his connections in the Wardens, so other organizations may know of his presence just from that. Up to everyone for that last part, though. |

People in the know may have heard of the Legion, but it's really not large or powerful enough to warrant any great deal of attention. Other religious orders would probably laugh at it. But if anyone knew enough about it to recognize the symbol on Matt's ring, they might be able to tell he's with the Legion. And I think knowledge of the legion would probably exist in the Warden info network somewhere, if only as a minor sidenote.
Matt's just recently been inducted as a knight though, so people probably would't know him personally. As for him being approved by anybody, I hadn't really considered that. My guess is probably no. I kind of imagined the Legion to be of the opinion that they're too important to bother with technicalities like the government and other people's plans, despite all evidence to the contrary. So he's just been snuck in the school under the radar. Hopefully.

So the janitor pushes the plot in motion, what a twist!
Will he play a role later? And Hawk raises a good point about the teaching thing. The teachers who didn't really specialize in their subject probably have pre-written lessons made by some-one else or something, but that isn't as good as someone who has a degree in the subject he's teaching.I also liked how Lynn (teal mage) did some lampshade hanging about it, but in the end doesn't seem to care that much. |

As that the Burakumin are basically a yakuza off shoot, chances are the SECA doesn't know much about them, however, yakuza tend to enjoy prestige, and some of the leaders of the Burakumin are pretty spiritual men...
So I'd say that SECA (and anyone else with good briefing) knows who Hikaru is, and also that the Burakumin aren't exactly perfectly legal entities. Take that as you will. As for the Burakumin no Akuma in general, here's the hierarchy, which, again, the SECA agents would probably know due to the whole 'Yakuza offshoot' thing, and law enforcement agencies probably having done some probing. Firstly, there are three 'castes' in the Burakumin. There's the worker caste, the priest caste, and the warrior caste. Hiraku is from the latter, obviously. The worker caste are the engineers--they're the people that actually build the guns. They're also the ones who keep money coming into the Burakumin by dealing with the Yakuza proper. These are the ones law enforcement have probably used to trace connections. The priest caste are, well, priests. They're the ones who keep the spirtuality of the sect intact and whom bless the weapons and their users. These are the magic users. Law enforcement agencies probably know very little about this, unless SECA leaks information to them. The warrior caste are gun kata masters, basically. They are demon hunters, and security for the Burakumin. These are the ones the law enforcement agencies are most worried about, for obvious reasons. On the bottom you have students. There are two types of students. Type one is the type that is born into the Burakumin. These range from 5 all the way to the mid-twenties, and come from all castes. Type two are Yakuza transfers. This is how the Burakumin keeps its underworld connections. Yakuza members are trained in how to fight like a Burakumin--though their training starts late, and ends much earlier. In other words, they learn some fancy moves, but would be no match for a true student. Or a demon. They are, obviously, not provided with specialty weaponry either. Burakumin graduates, still tend to be among the best assassins the Yakuza has to offer, however, and therefore pays the Burakumin handsomely for this training. The next tier of the hierarchy is the disciples. These are the students who have now mastered their art. They are the demon hunters if they are warriors, but gun smiths if they are workers, and the binders if they are priests. Above the disciples are the masters. These members of the Burakumin understand their caste well enough to train the younger members. They are not directly above the disciples in the chain of command, but it is generally understood that they know more than the disciples and therefore should be listened to when advice is given. Above them are the elders. These would be the local family heads, and may come from any of the three castes, depending upon the local area's needs. An area heavy in demons, for instance, would most likely be headed by a warrior caste. An area in an industrial district, on the other hand, with a worker or priest caste. Then at the very top are the three clan lords. There is one clan lord for each caste, and the three clan lords are also members of the council. They make decisions for the clan together. TL;DR, yes you guys may know who Hikaru is.

Yeah...in hindsight, I should of made an official/unofficial Protectors list like I did last time...but I didn't think I would need to since we didn't have the insanely massive starting group the last game did.

Goin' on vacation for the rest of the week. Not sure if I'll be online much until Sunday. Just assume Matt is around, doing stuff. Important stuff.

My assumption will be that he's hiding in the bathroom smoking.

Ok, thanks for those clarifications guys, it'll help me to figure out who I should be interacting with at this point in time. Arcanum has been upgraded to Known status (mainly for ease, assume we met at a general breifing at McCragge Manor or some such).
Lazy and Krylo have been elevated to Know of, but not met, so I can say there's new students to meet, as well as teachers and it means I can atleast know you're there. Mauve has been downgraded to Not known. Revised list stands thus; Known Protectors; Duncan McCragge Jared Greyhall -- TB Nathaniel Jackson John Loftus - Wight (SECA, maths) Richard Miles - Overcast (SECA, english) Marcus Verreau - Arcanum (Astral Light, RE) Possibly known; Adam Morrey - Gorefiend (British SECA, teacher) Isaac Tanase - Raptor (Warden, History) Know of, but not met; Abdul-Rahim - Bard (Warden, geography) Lynn Arious - Teal (Society, Student) Rob Brinford - Lazy man (Warden, Student) Isamu Hikaru - Krylo (Akuma, Student) Unsure of; Damien Quarlel - Dante (Warden, not on site) Not known; Matthew Herald - Mauve (Holy Legion, Student, may be spotted as Legion member) Task - P9 (Society, student, hidden Protector) Note this list could also apply to anyone else in SECA. Duno how useful it is to everyone else though, but I figure everyone above Dante should be known to the Council now, with the possible exception of Isaac.

Chances are Damien is unknown at this point. He prefers to work alone and will stay that way until he realizes how much he's up against
