Perhaps then I am confusing you with someone else, I apologise. But please do keep in mind that we like posts with content and not just an excuse to post something.

To the Girl Long Gone (A Letter)
When I first saw you, girl, you were the wind. Your clothes loose and pressing against your form with the breeze Your hair blown back behind you as you held yourself against the autumn chill I didn't think Didn't think to love you then That first year. You were with that well intentioned boyfriend then, The one you left for being dumb as a rock. And I, I was the plaything in another girl's sadistic little game But years past we cleared ourselves of these binding threads and landed next to each other. To speak To listen Perhaps to love I slowly fell for you, girl. Seeing your lovely form day in day out Typical High School Romance Or it would have been Perhaps. But I didn't think Didn't think to ask you Didn't think it safe I'd had my heart broken once too often (once is too often) and too often you had broken hearts I didn't think didn't think until it was too late A year past and still I can't stop thinking of you But I know I've got to leave you, girl Got to leave your memory behind Got to let you go on your way (can't keep you from your dreams) Got to stop loving you (can't stop loving you) You left me, girl, in California Moved out to your big east-coast school Its not too late to come back, girl Not yet, at least. But you never know when it might be. 'Cause I've got to let you go girl One way or another.

A Terrible String
A heart on a string is a terrible thing, Please don’t yank my chain. I know it clanks and chanks as I go along But leave that sordid thing unchanged. This ball and chain are a terrible things, When it’s a heart on a string. An unfit end? Two black birds watch from the mountaintop, The earth shakes. All is consumed In the serpent's poisonous breath. The heavens sink. The mighty have fallen. Metal wheels and smoke Greet the dawn.

Stars far from home
My travels have taken me
beyond the reach of civilized lands, to places unhindered by noise of metal against metal, untainted by artificial light, as the moon and stars dance overhead. Legs moving slowly, they tell me that the time for rest is near, and camp is set, though no fire lit - summer months provide all the warmth needed. I lay back and sigh, looking up at the stars, so far from home, yet so familiar to me, leaving me a trace of memory, and longing for the land from which I came, where friends, family, and warm meals always await. I snap out of the reverie, a bright streak across the sky providing a light, and a new direction, as it does not fade, and lands far away from my place of rest, I find that best for me, but I will see when the morrow comes, where that light shall take me. For I follow the stars, when so far from home...

On a dark night, approached by dark strangers
take to my heels and brace myself, walking brisky along the streetlamped road which oddly enough was not lit this night as the shadows pace behind me with deafening speed and skyrocketing noise as I draw my hands into fists and keep looking back edging, ever so closer, toward the houses (perhaps to knock, perhaps to pretend the house is mine) keep walking, keep walking, and then finally build courage to turn around and face it the nothingness that haunts me.

One life to live in misery
One protest to scream silently One dawn to come in crimson red One river run as innocents bled One eve to fall so quietly One night to break in agony One friendship lost to bitter greed One desperate act in utmost need One forgotten, wasted away One remembered but not by name One who died in battle fierce One from misguided arrow's pierce One lord to rule o'er all the lands One shamed and banished to the sands One scream swept away on winds One herald of our bitter end By...ME

Seven Sins
Let truth be mentioned nevermore,
Let lies now cut us to the core; So Wrath consumes with rage unknown, And tranquil thoughts will lose their home; May change descend upon this ground, And transform all that utters sound; Greed, which reigns over the earth, Evil, yet in doubled worth; Lust corrupts the family life, Destroys the mind of every wife; Vanity snakes into all thought, Misguides us all, for them we fought; The lazy ones can never rest, Sloth grabs hold, and not in jest; Gluttony looms overhead, Within them all - left for dead; Finally, the Envy comes, Opens all our wants to shun. With all the Sins upon us, The world will cry in chorus; For Sin will always be there, In hearts so filled with dispair.

Not a clever man

I know that snow flakes will be falling soon.
That's all we are--snowflakes: Beautiful, unique, and quickly gone. Once we hit the ground.

Five minute poetry, anyone?
'Man and Machine'
A heart beats a pump groans legs, arms moving gears grinding finding homes next to bone metal enshrouded vision unclouded artifice created new man and machine beginning anew traverse the planes immerse the senses oil and blood metal and bone man and machine ----------- 'Singed Wings' Dance, dance, not too close, overwhelming, heat consuming, drawing me in, flutter closer, wings singed, yet still I come, flames not done, I cannot shun, too close to be, mortality finds its grip, pulls me in, burns my wings... never again. ----------- 'Thought you knew' Empty places all in view, never false, but never true; feigning interest, thought you knew; It was to be close to you. Never thought I'd come this far, stars abound, come from the scar; My heart heals, keeps moving on, the love is there, t'was never gone. I only hope, I only pray, that you will speak with me someday; And back to how it was before, with no exceptions, I adore. ----------- 'Music' It flows like streams down mountainsides, It gives us dreams of paradise; Sharpened notes - a battlecry, Soulfull strings, for someone died; Complete emotion, always there, Made just for friends, by those who care; Instant acheivement, utter glory, Epic sounds, they tell a story; Forming scenes, creating lives, Composer's dream - for this they strive; Within us all, a certainty - Music's love, eternally. ----------- 'Lonliness' Lonliness - drifting away on clouds of white to lands of peace while next to you filled with grief stress descends once again love is there but love pretends misshapen thoughts misguided words my heart still longs tries to endure tightening grip reality slip motion continues seeing they've been used thoughts drift again I cannot pretend I'm not happy here to you it's unclear but lonliness reigns for my heart's in pain lonliness here, next to you ----------- 'Horror' Night descends, once again, eyes dialate, minds isolate, monsters in shadows, thoughts turning shallow, greed and wrath, point and laugh, steps moving quickly, stomach feeling sickly, light far away, no safe place to stay, overwhelming, resolve melting, no words to share, just screams of horror, have to run, get past the corner, light comes closer, heart beats faster, light goes out, no hope left, falls to knees, succumbs to theft, sound of despair, silence lingers.... Author's note: Each of these poems were built off a premise that different people gave me, and were made on the spot.
