Still, Fighter has been kept alive after all the murder attempts. Now, add to this that he is the chosen one, we discover destiny has been altered to make him survive.
Sure, you got all those explanations about the armor and sleeping and such, but he just won't die because his future has been written already. By this, I mean that he's going to get every single advantage. At least until he cast away evil.

I will clarify.
I believe you are right as well. However, I looked at your statement and for the first time noticed the implication of BB's epitaph, of destiny, and how his death may be significant. I looked at it this way and saw that this may be the purpose of that big long epitaph, that the LWs, specifically Fighter, have a destiny with a path they only have to walk, as implied by both BM in 434 and BB later. I thought that Brian may slighly refer back to BB's death or his thoughts at death, and will tie this whole thing together. What I meant by coming back to bite us in the ass was that we will finally see extra significance in BB's last thoughts. Please put up with this writing. I am VERY tired. Edit: Quote:
Also Zak, BM himself has said it, Fighter doesn't die. He won't stay dead. I would appreciate it if you drop it. Yes he CAN die, it just is really difficult.

I haven't seen anyone really comment on what the final situation is in which this conversation is taking place, except to say it’s probably the final conversation before some apocalyptic battle, involving everyone being dead except BM and the other speaker. But it might not be so final. There are two other possibilities I thought of (though they are probably less likely than the final battle scenario):
#1 it could be just a very long joke. basically, BM is talking to another light warrior in the midst of a big catastrophe were their death is imminent, musing about how they got there, and BM thinks of the events in #434. Hilarity ensues, somehow. #2 (slightly more likely) BM and some other light warrior are both dead and in hell, thus hell king text for BM. Being that they are in hell, they think about how they ended up there. BM remembers riding the windshield of the deathtrap/airship. Hilarity ensues, probably. In both cases the other speaker would probably be fighter, because of the antagonism between BM and fighter, resulting in what I assume is even more hilarity. And all the other evidence for fighter helps too. No matter what the context of the conversation, it has to be fighter. If you read the conversation closely, it seems to me the BM is mocking fighter because he never saw that BM truly hated him and tried to kill him. Fighter, being the hero and true friend, will not give up on BM, thus the lines "it is not too late"(fighter) followed by "it is for some people"(BM). Also, the first frame speaks to this. BM is talking about how his fate lead to whatever evil end and is therefore unredeemable, but fighter denies there is fate(even though he may belive in it anyway) in an attempt to convince BM to become good (I would say again, but I guess he has never been good). But with in the 8 bit world, there is fate, which BM sort of proves in the second frame and fighter sort of accepts in the fourth frame, possibly resigning himself to the final battle with his former friend. For those who think it is ooc for fighter to talk like this, or above his IQ, there are plenty instances were he is smart. I just don't feel like linking to them Thief and RM would never make an attempt to appeal to BM in any way, and besides they wouldn't attempt to fight his hell king form; they wouldn't stand a chance. Plus, since BM can't seem to kill fighter, it makes sense that he would survive the initial betrayal. I guess it could be possible for WM to have this kind of conversation with BM, and maybe even stand a chance in a fight with him, but probably not. Especially since Brian said it’s probably not her. It could also Be BB, through some wierd plot device, but Brian would never do that just to spite everyone who wanted him back. |

I was thinking about the thought of Fighter and BM being in hell. One problem there.
Fighter would never go to Hell. He's to good/innoscent/stupid. Also, he's a destined warrior. So he's probably going to heaven.

What if...what if Black Mage, after retaking Hell, goes to Heaven to take over? Then...

Yeah, the hell scenario is unlikely. Unless Fighter commits suicide to go after/help his friend, BM.
Plus, what is with people not reading former posts. You mention comics which show his intelligence which have been all over the place for the last 2 pages. Plus ZAKtheGeek brought up Fighter's invincibility, which was already brought up, but I don't believe it was finished. Plus I believe there were other occurances and I am too lazy to look back on them. I ask that people read the entire post so that we are not rephrasing things. For example kaizen could have just said "we already know of his inteligence due to the evidense in former posts" or something like that that is not so nerdy. Sorry if this is spamming but I had to say it. And welcome to the forums kaizen. Have a nice time. Edit: It only just struck me on the "Fighter" is stupid thing. Let's clarify something. There is no generic smart and stupid scale. People have different areas of inteligence, such as street smarts and book smarts. To make my point I will use an extreme. The classical mathematical idiot savant. He looks like a bumbling idiot, until he flashes out calculations faster then a calculater with greater accuracy. Anyone see a relation to Fighter? He is practically an idiot savant. He is naive to an extremely sad scale with horrible people skills, yet he uses and applies rather complex ideas at different times with the vocabulary of an english professer. Most people see the bumbling idiot, but there is evidense of a genious beneath. Questions? Comments? Complaints? I know I probably might have restated the already said many times, but some people need a real world example. Here it is.
