First I'm trying to defend faukernuap from a random lynch, and get called scummy. Now I vote for him, and I'm called scummy. All the active people are scummy? Maybe I should just never speak again.

See: catlover in Mafia Basic. Changing your votes back in forth is generally considered scummy, yes.

Also, different sides. Don't ever try to please everybody.

Then there woulda been no reason to boot him from the game! Because then it was a ploy to get one of the mafia "confirmed" as a townie, and was a brilliant move. So there would've been no reason.

Of all the players who have been even sort of active, Ogianres FoS'd almost everyone. "You voted for someone with an unknown role! You must be a mafiate!" Um, no. You just can't accuse that many people at once, either.
And some townies do post, you know.

I can accuse as many people as I want, I just can only vote for one. I was trying to make a point about why random lynching, bandwagoning, and random lynch bandwagoning are very bad decisions. And like I said in my own post, the chance that one of the people I FOS'd are mafia is most likely just that, a chance. If I had honestly believed that someone was mafia I would have voted for them.

I didn't mean that you're not allowed to FoS that many people, just that you, well, shouldn't. Go ahead and do what you want, but do you honestly suspect all those people?

A few points:

Understand when I entered, a good majority of people were voting for Fauckneedsaneasiername. A move dramatically counter to the popular notion would be much too aggressive for this stage, yes? Yes.

If anyone were to post this moment and declare, for example, "Gregory Williams is mafia, I know it!" they would be eyed with suspicion at the least. Their reputation for a volatile nature and aggressive play style would haunt them, and likely get them killed further down the line.

Presently, voting against an inactive person who hardly even cares what is going on is hardly suspicious activity. It is human tendency to take an easy out when it is presented, and if anything, those working steadily against this "bandwagoning" instance are rather more suspect.

But, as I've said before, rushing to a random vote benefits only the scum. Day 1 is probably the best Day to take our time with. We start with zero evidence against anyone. We random vote and look for evidence in people's reactions. To an extent, a longer Day 1 should mean more posts from the players and therefore more evidence with which to decide who is and is not scum. Too long, of course, and we give the scum too much opportunity to manipulate us. Better to err on the side of caution, however, than to hand the scum a fee kill. (I'm not advocating a No Lynch -- I've seen the math and the math says No Lynch also benefits the scum -- somebody's dying today. But I am saying we should take the time to wait until we have built up some actualy evidence rather than randomly lynching someone just to get clues that may or may not be in the SK's nightpost.

And, speaking of evidene, here's what I've got at this point. I've already FOSed Nikose and the best answer he could give was to say the vote he'd previously cast for IHMN wasn't random. He did this without ever posting the reason for his vote. He followed up with more pleas for random lynching:

I can't keep a straight face saying that. oh god. :P Just... pick carefully, and don't get manipulated. :P
I don't understand -- what's so hard to keep a straight face about? Or are you trying to get us to confuse "funny" with "innocent"?

Okay, SK won't leave us any clues until the first night occurs; random voting doesn't work, so what are our options here?
The only one I can think of is to have a volunteer get power-lynched by us, in exchange for the clue we'll need. Or we pick the most suspicious person.
My dice are thrown to picking the most suspicious person right now, but I want to see if people want to do a concentrated effort, or if a volunteer to be power-lynched shows up.
Power-lynched? Please explain. Would this be some kind of lynching that is more effective than the usual kind? Or are you referring to lynching a person faster than a sailor in port gets a social disease? Haste is not our ally.

Well, there is always the chance that we get a mafia with our power-lynch. But what other options do we have? I'm just asking because getting tonight underway would be a good thing.
Hmm. Looking forward to using a night-role are we? I wonder which it could be. 5 Mafia, 2 cult, 1 SK, 1 Vig, 1 PO, 1 BG. Looks like 8 - 3 it'd be scummy.

Then, as soon as Inbred Chocobo votes for faukneruap, Nikose jumps on board:

We are at almost 100 posts now, with nothing accomplished. A lynching could hit a mafiate, or a mafiate might hit a cult. Hell, if we are lucky, it could yield a clue!
and sitting on our butts waiting for something to happen, ((When nothing's gonna happen at all! [it's a song, people.])) won't acomplish much.
I volunteer to be voted out, if needs be.
IC wins.
Vote: fauckneruap
So I'm gonna go ahead and double up my FOS: Nikose. Honestly, I'd go right ahead and vote right now but I want to give Nikose the opportunity to defend himself and I know he was gonna be offline for the rest of today/tonight.
