Yeah umm except you wouldn't know for sure who's who just yet buddy. Even if you are vig, sk, or mafiate there's no guarantee you'd hit another mafiate or whatnot. Two town-aligned people died last night, not two people of one particular mafia.

But the fact of the matter remains that he didn't have any inside information in the first place and all he had was a hunch. A hunch that was never explained. So to me, this just looks like an easy setup by one of the mafia's to get me lynched since I've watched the anime and know a little something of how this might work.

And to that, Now that I've read the deathpost, Neither of the two mafias are Kira since both Rygar and Cephrir did not die of a heart attack (Kira's mode of killing). This leads me to beleive that this takes place AFTER L died and the two mafia are made up of Near's SPK and Mellow's group of super criminals.

But that leaves light somewhere in the mix so if anyone has any idea on where he fits into all this, by all means, say so.

with the deathnote you can specify mode of death, both are well within the death notes power

Unless you're saying you're Kira, I wasn't talking about you.

And since you're claiming to be and haven't done anything, you're obviously not.

As to why Kira didn't kill, we can only guess. Perhaps he was roleblocked, perhaps he chose not to kill, perhaps he chose to kill someone who was already killed.

Or, and I think this is likely the case, because Near and Mello have their real names hidden, he can't kill the dons. So trying to wouldn't work and he did.

EDIT TO AEROZORD- The deaths can't be specific murders. That's one of the things about the Death Note. It would have just ended up as a heart attack.

Except he can't control other peoples actions to purpossly do the killing? Or when killing the person, that person can't kill another person in the process.

Actually... this came up in the Death Note movie. Usually, that doesn't work, but there is an exception. I'd say more, but that would be spoilers.
