As promised!
002 - MOTIVATION Welp, that's enough of that. Happy April Fool's Day! I'm gonna go look for a hockey mask to try and protect myself from the imminent face punches. >.<

Don't know if I've posted this one before, but it's that time of year again and this poem is my answer to Fall.
My morning Starts at 12 AM or PM Unspent dreams Choking down blood and the slimeball my tongue becomes preaching halitosis It's an argument those first few hours liberals and democrats conservatives and republicans insomnia or comatose Eye sewn shut and the other staring endlessly It all goes nowhere quickly Goebel's Law Reductio ad hitler The right throws the first punch and I am out of sheets The left retaliates and I am for once sleepy like I wasn't for the last eight hours There will be things to be done undone and some part of me will be a failure if I do or don't regardless 1500 words a day for a book like all those college papers Why is it so hard now? When I don't have PSY 131 in the morning? Was it my Karate instructor giving life parables As we stood in gi full quarter stance looking at the burning embers of early autumn leaves out the gym windows? Breathe in, slow, deep Through the nose out the mouth On worse days it was snorting in a blizzard and coughing up my own personal whirlwind followed by a punch

I started doodling and this happened. Then I decided I didn't want to take the time to finish coloring or actually make the arms an appropriate length and finish the legs.
So here you go. In all its mouse-drawn glory. I guess part of me really misses this thread. Or I'm just a narcissistic asshole who likes drawing her own characters.

Sorry it's been so many weeks since the last comic! I know that was a hell of a cliffhanger to leave you on, but, y'know, that's kinda just how I roll. Anyway, here's the next one:
038 - MORSELS Will they ever get the Gem that can stop the Invasion? What happend to Melfice and the scepter? Find out next time on JAQ2! Oh, and in old JAQ news, I've almost got the book done! Just a few of the new illustrations holding it up now, pretty much. (Drawing is hard.) But it's now close to 170 pages—that's like nearly seventy pages of extras! I know it's been a long time coming, but hopefully it'll be worth it! Here's a quick preview of some of the early layouts.

Return of the Silly Faces
The plot curdles?! Also, my new hobby is taking forever to follow up on a punchline. Shyria in panel 2 is my new favourite thing I have ever drawn.

In the interest of keeping things alive around here, here's something dead!
You guys remember this old thing from 2008?
Obviously it's never gonna happen at this point, so really, I see no reason not to share the work that was actually done on it. CLICK HERE to download a ZIP file containing a partial first draft of the pilot episode (all that was ever written), a few concept sketches, and some tentative music work from Fenris. EDIT: Forgot that I'd had my brother record lines of dialogue for his one scene one time when he was home on leave, so I went ahead and recorded my lines just now and added an mp3 of that scene into the download.

It has been brought to my attention that the murderous slime in my last comic has been mistaken for Intern Nin! To clear things up, I have prepared this portrait of the turtle detective.
As you can see: - Nin's skin is green, not red. - No slime-bobble. - He has a snout instead of a nose. - His hat is at a more raffish angle. - He is a turtle, not a slime. - He is hardboiled. - His trenchcoat is a slightly different colour. My apologies for any confusion!

Making it happen.

So, I've been a busy fellow the past few weeks.
For our final project in CMT 503 - Mudbox - We were instructed to model and then touch up a reptile. Anything beyond that was at our own discretion, and so I've shamelessly sto...er, BORROWED the image of our very own Shyria Dracnoir. Once I fix a few minor issues I'd like to take a swing at rigging and animating it on my own time, but I'm not sure if I've quite the skill to do it justice just yet. Though I've learned a good deal more about animation, rigging itself is still a tricky beast. Some still images of Maya... Clicky. And in Mudbox itself... Clickeroo.
