I'm guessing Rose got Dave in on the "destroy SBurb" angle and while Rose rips the game a new one physically, Dave's trying to game the economy for... whatever Boondollars are used for.

If it's Fraymotifs, and we're right in the assumption that Fraymotif = special moves,
Then for some reason Dave thinks John doesn't have a need for special moves. Which might fit into the RPG videogame typings of John as the muscle/mangrit and Dave as more of a ninja/technique user. Or, wait, maybe the Fraymotifs are directly connected to the second part of their titles? Like Dave would buy special timepower augmentations or some shit. Dave is both dismissive of John's "Breath" and "need for boonbucks" so it could be the same thing but I'm probably extrapolating.
