Raistlin vs Urza. Both are at their peak.

I'd have to say Urza.
Sure Raistlin may be the Master of Past and Present but did he invent time travelling robots? No, he did not. Seriously, you don't screw with a man who decides to get rid of an enemy by turning up with a bunch of fellow demigods in humungous robots and blowing up that entire dimension.

Have to give the intelligence card to Raistlin though. Urza has a tendency to do things that aren't particularly smart. Like attacking Phyrexia head on with a single Dragon Engine.

Raistlin also had a chance at becoming a god and gave it up in his one act of selfless heroism to basically screw ANOTHER god out of being able to manifest, from what I understand. I dunno, the last thing I personally read about him was in Dragons of Spring Morning where he basically pulled a Deus Ex after getting black robes. Also, he has to be one of my favorite characters just for his cold antiheroism alone. This is a guy who goes so far as to be asked if he's precognitive on occasion and reply with, essentially, "no, and you're stupid, because I already said no, and for the love of God it sucks to be stuck with people so mentally inferior," and once told the only thing of beauty he'd seen in ages (Laurana) that he was damn well smarter than Tanis and just happened to be going the same way. That's aside from being one in only a handful of non-black wizards (at the time) to be able to see Nuitari and read their books. To put it this way, Raist is all SORTS of badass, even as a glass cannon, and even goes so far to be a badass glass cannon while he's at it. I think that given the technology, he'd be willing and able to do what Urza did if he could even be bothered.

In response to Blues: it wasn't to stop another god from manifesting. It was because he was shown the future that would come about if he killed Takhisis and took over her throne. The balance of good and evil would have been destroyed and the entire world would have gone with it. So he threw the fight at the last second and ended up being tortured by her for quite some time.
I don't know much about Urza lore-wise, though, so I can't really speak on this fight.

[spoiler2]Basically. Pretty much in the future where he became a god he pretty effortlessly wiped out the two remaining gods and destroyed a good bit of the world, the problem was that the one thing he couldn't do was create anything due to being so all around bitter and hateful and fucked up so all he could do was keep on destroying the rest of the world and the universe and then ultimately himself. ...Granted this was before the point in the series where they introduced Chaos as the father of the gods so it's hard to say what would have happened if/when Raistlin ran into him.[/spoiler]

Well, considering Chaos was trapped forevers in a gem, that was only broken open due to mortals being stupid, he would have probably remained trapped forevers, what with the whole Raistlin killing everyone thing.

Yeah, thing is that Raistlin's whole 'become a god' deal was based on a highly conditional plan.
It required: 1: Time travel 2: A pre-existing portal to the Abyss. 3: A cleric of Paladine who would go along with his evil plan on account of him being too damn sexy. Needed to open said portal. Although yeah, the plan did also involve him totally wailing on Takhisis after he lures her through the portal into the material plane to weaken her. On the other hand, planeswalkers like Urza are effectively gods. They're virtually immortal, can pretty much heal any injury nigh instantly and some of them have actually made planes. Not to mention Urza became one by being caught in an explosion that destroyed a small continent... Hmmm, might be closer than I first thought actually.
