What Daecrist said, only replace Venture Bros. with anime.
The show just works too much on the awkward pauses and ridiculous ideas - it's stuff I've all seen before. I'll give it another shot, but I highly doubt that there will be a reversal of faith.

I second Daecrist's call for more Venture Bros., but I'm up for more anime as well. I never thought I would get hooked to an anime show, but I love Full Metal Alchemist and occassionally I watch Inuyasha as well.
Tom Goes to the Mayor never did much for me, I'm sorry to say, but it's still probably better than Robot Chicken. |

Tom Goes to the Mayor basically proves that non sequitur isn't always funny.

i think that either yu yu hakusho(unedited) or naruto(unedited) should take TGTTM's place.
naruto because it is definetely gonna be screwed over by cartoon network. or is it 4kids network?? i personally like the different anime shows that are aired on adult swim. thats mostly why i watch it. i havent seen any Tom episodes partly because i really dont like the animation. it just makes me feel like the creators were just too lazy to make better styled figures. |

well about the replacing TGTTM with an anima show, well you couldnt do it. Well not just a straight trade. Since it is 15 min long and ventrue or the anima is 30+ sometimes on anima unedited. So they could swing it if they maybe droped another 15 min show or one of the 15 min shows they play twice drop one of the airs.
They should take it out and take family guy and american dad with it, also milk chan. |

TGTTM is okay, but I don't really like any of the comedy ones.
Get rid of Family Guy? Ludicrous! Other than the fact that you can just watch new episodes on FOX. I don't really like any of the crappy comedy types except for Aqua Teen Hungerforce (which I could live without), so they could get rid of all of them and put on some more anime. I mean, get rid of the entire comedy block. Seriously. Most are cheap and they aren't even outrageous like South Park. Although I have to admit the only new anime I'm really, really enjoying is Full Metal Alchemist. Ghost In The Shell, s-CRY-ed, and Samurai Champloo are okay, but strangely I don't like them in a "wow I gotta watch this" sort of way, which is strange for me since I usually gravitate towards the more adult anime (not that Full Metal Alchemist isn't adult, but it and s-CRY-ed are more on the cartoony side). |

If they're going to drop anything it should be Futurama. We've seen every episode of that how many times now? I can quote certain episodes word for word along with the show, and I don't even watch adult swim every night, nor have I seen Futurama anywhere else. It's time to drop it. If you really want to watch every episode more than 20 times it's time to invest in a DVD player.
TGTTM's animation is part of its comedy. The whole thing relies on quirkiness and Tom's position as a complete loser who just won't give up. I find it's pulled off rather well, and many times has a quiet tongue-in-cheek humor to it that the other shows lack. I think the humor in Tom is at a slightly higher bar than Aqua Teens or Sealab. It relies on more complicated set ups and jokes, and it doesn't work for some people. If Aqua Teen is to Friends as Tom is to Frasier. I think that's a pretty good way of putting it.

Their only good shows are in this all mighty list (beholdeth!):
-Futurama -Family Guy -Venture Bros. -Aqua Teen Hunger Force -Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law -Robot Chicken -Full Metal Alchemist -Inuyasha Any other shows are either too new to pass any true judgment on (even though Saturday night anime is really confusing most of the time, but... it's new... whatever...) or have failed, in a list that'd make whoever came up with that opening scene of the first episode in the new season of Family Guy flee from the room in horror. [DISCLAIMER:] I'm not saying if you like any other shows, you're wrong. Just fair warning to prevent some dumb annoying thing some rabid fan-thing calls a winning argument for themselves, even though I don't think NP forum goers would do that.

I am mainly for the anime purists, with the exception of Family Guy, most of the others are too slapstick for my sense of humor . . . strange . . . family guy not slap stick? *shrug*
All of the Animes I like, so they can stay, just bring more onto me is what I say

Let me throw out another question. Was I the only one attracted to the show by its animation? When I first saw commercials for it I was like "Wow, that looks different. Maybe I should give it a shot." When I finally had a chance to watch a few episodes, I found it was funnier than Futurama. I love the show now, and I don't really see anything flawed about it. The situations are hilarious because they're so ridiculous. The bronzing episode, the land mine episode, the Porking With the Petersons episode, all classics.
I can understand how the show could lose viewership, though. Some of the humor is high-brow. If people tune in expecting to see Futurama or Family Guy humor, they're going to be dissapointed. But, I expected something completely different, which is exactly what I got. [Edit] And in my opinion, Sealab should go. And Aqua Teen Hunger Force barely makes the cut. It seems that anything out of Japan outdoes everything else CN puts in their lineup.
