Regarding the battle... I know it was Level 1 vs Level 1, but I would've liked to see some Riot Sword happening there. Also, I was surprised at the distinct lack of Fire attacks for Terra, considering it's the only element she learns naturally as far as I can tell. I guess while I'm posting anyway... who's considering importing this? EDIT FOR SQUALL VIDEO: Ah, now THAT was more like it! The Terra/Terra one was too one-sided. This was more exciting, and the AI Squall actually got their Ex-Mode in this time. Also: I guess we have it confirmed that battle music is based on characters and not levels. That was the same arena used for Onion Knight vs CoD, but the music track was "The Extreme" from FF8.

HAH! BLONDE TERRA SUCKS
Is the version of The Extreme in the Squall VS Squall video an arrangement, or is it taken from FFVIII? I can't tell. |

Another thing: Squall doesn't run like a girl, what the hell was the guy talking about? EDIT: Oh, and is the AI terrible, or is the player just good?

These battles seem to be Level 1 against Level 1, meaning some motherfucker already has the game. I imagine Level 1 AI is not something to be proud of.
EDIT: Yup, it's already online. Fucking pirates. |

I find the two dimensional static summons to be rather jarring against the rest of the graphics/gameplay.
They probably should have just left them out if that's all they were gonna do with them.

Yeah, see, the thing about those games is that a 2D static sprite being superimposed over other 2D sprites, half of which were ALSO static, is not a jarring disconnect from the flow of the game.
In a game where everyone is running around in 3D pissing armageddon all over the place, a little poster of, say, Bahamut being stuck over their faces is just... weird. A nice tribute to the early days was things like... putting those characters in, and giving them their proper personalities, and what not. Maybe actually basing the appearance of the summons off their earlier conceptions, as opposed to FFX's. Choosing to put a completely out of place static graphical effect into the game isn't a tribute. It's just lazy.
