Yeah, it is possible to escape them, as long as you find the sword in the stone that warps you back to the hub area.

well I gathered it was possible, but I doubt your average gamer will like the idea of having to run away from a big guy that wants to beat you up. Alot of people play games for escapism from stuff like that

It's also escapism for the other guy who can get into other people's games and curbstomp them without facing any kind of punishment.

yes but everyone starts out new. Imagine someone rented the game, and just as they are getting into the game someone breaks into their game, walks up to you and kills you. Then you are in a weakened state because some random dick wanted a quick kill. I imagine quite a few people would not be too interested in buying the full game

I'd just like to add that it's entirely possible to kill an invading player yourself, so they're not totally invincible or anything. If you kill them they'll lose all the souls they've built up to that point.

yea but why would you target a strong player? You fully resurect no matter their skill level right? So why not target a player far weaker then you

But who's to say that the attacking player will always be far stronger than you? Depending on how you spent your Souls you might be able to put up a good fight yourself. Besides, it's not even known if you can disable this feature, or whenever you can see the stats of the other players around. If what I'm hearing is true, the other player might even take the form of an existing stage boss, and have all the weaknesses that that boss has. But I'm not 100% sure on that.
Oh yeah, this is confirmed to have a New Game+ mode. The game gets harder, but enemies give more Souls in return, and you can carry over your endgame character. Last edited by mudah.swf; 02-07-2009 at 07:11 PM. |
