What a strange idea, that a company must grow forever or it is worthless. Companies should be allowed to exist primarily to provide a service for American society and it's workers. If a company stops growing, so what? That means it's gone as far as it can in the economic niche it is in. And if it hasn't, other smaller companies will pop up to fill in the rest. We can't keep growing forever. The planet can't take it. We should to move to sustainment.

The idea that other countries raise their tarrifs and their businesses ship primarily to their people as well is kind of the point. Increased prices can be balanced with higher wages from those prices, ensured by strong union bargaining platforms that can't just be countered by cheap labor overseas. Yes, I'm very segregationist in my economic views. It's a pipe dream, though. We're too far gone.
