It's because the BIOS clock is misconfigured, which is not something I have any access to whatsoever. The battery may be dead per PX. I'm not 100% certain in all honesty because I have never laid hands on the physical server. Because we're on a frankenstein server that refuses to acknowledge the 4 gig of physical RAM, choosing instead to recognize 800 megs (because it won't use the image with extended memory support for whatever reason) and utilize the 7 gig swap file I created to compensate, then when SQL crashes there's usually a 50/50 that we need to do a full reboot as opposed to simply restarting SQL. This is going away after we move tot he new location because we will have a new server machine or even be entirely virtualized by then.
