It could get even worse if NPC trainers came from all around the world just to punk on the new kid...
Dandy Old Man: "I've got a level 54 Altaria, a level 56 Lucario, and a level 57 Gyarados. Let's have a fair battle!" Player Character: "Fair battle, my ass! I just got my level 5 starter one hour ago, you old fuck!" Dandy Old Man: "But if you beat me, you get 14080 Pokemon Dollars!" Player Character: "Do I look like I need that much money right now?! Go back to where you stood all the way across the continent. You're making my town smell like a retirement home." Dandy Old Man: "Could I give you my phone number?" Player Character: "Why, so you can tell me that your fuckin' Altaria is different from other Altaria? No thank you, I haven't yet found a reason to live yet and you're trying to give me a reason to kill myself." Last edited by Astral Harmony; 04-30-2011 at 01:53 AM. |

Oh yes, very much true. Trainers' strength wouldn't be organized according to geographically sequencial locations! Any trainer in any town is just as likely to sport a weak-ass or an overpowered team as the next.
On the plus side, imagine all the ladies who might very well end up being traveling buddies with you if the real world turns out like the anime. :3 Last edited by Menarker; 04-30-2011 at 02:13 AM. |

I kinda wonder how that would work.
If it was me, I'd be forsaking women for Pokemon and adventures just as much as I forsake women for gaming and anime as I do now (sorry ladies, but don't worry 'cause you're not missing out on much), and I probably wouldn't even think about women or relationships unless I seriously couldn't do Pokemon training or have adventures with Pokemon anymore. Then I'd probably release all but two of my Pokemon (can you imagine trying to cope with a wife, some rugrats, and a bunch of attention-seeking Pokemon all at once? I couldn't do it) and settle down somewhere and me and the missus would reminisce about the good ol' days of when we were young and energetic trainers without a care in the world except for what we were encountering day in and day out instead of worrying about a distant and uncertain future. I suppose on the other hand you could forget about relationships and families entirely and just retire with your Pokemon, but I have a feeling some of them would still have a great many years of battle ahead of them (I imagine Dragon types live for really damn long while Ghost types would live forever to name a couple of examples) and wouldn't be ready to retire even though your body is worn out and your journey is over. All in all, I would say that it's not a bad life. Not a bad life at all. Last edited by Astral Harmony; 04-30-2011 at 04:17 AM. |

Eh, I forgot who I was going to give Cofragius to.
I think I'll trade it in for Sam's Dusknoir.

Just as a heads-up, this was what I had written down for what you told me the teams would be like under some ideal circumstances or something... (Not that I'm stopping you from trading away Dusknoir)
Elizabeth 1. Sceptile (Grass) 2. Lopunny (Normal) 3. Ninetales (Fire) 4. Cloyster (Water/Ice) 5. Nagarai (Dragon/Electric) Sophia 1. Tsujimi (Almighty) 2. Daramitan (Fire *Psychic) 3. Rotom (Electric/*Varies*) 4. Heracross (Bug Fighting) 5. Cofagrigus (Ghost) 6. Hydreigon (Dark/Dragon) Sam 1. Palkia (Water/Dragon) 2. Gardevoir (Psychic) 3. Miltank (Normal) 4. Scizor (Bug/Steel) 5. Dusknoir (Ghost) 6. Torterra (Grass/Ground) Also, btw, the legendary emotion pokemons such as Azelf are going to be available if you want to switch out Gardevoir for it. (They were in the hands of the president's son but AB said he would be actively supporting PATCA by donating them to our cause) Otherwise, the only other duplicates in your teams is Lopunny (or rather Leprihare) and Heracross (Heidi's form). Not to worry too much though. A small measure of duplicates is unavoidable really. Especially since my Umbreon is naturally going to conflict with one of the eevee trainers. But I'm trying my best to minimalize it while keeping a good balance in types and stats (I managed to get a very high range for pretty much all of them with only a few on the extreme high or low). So ideally, each NPC will hopefully be fairly viable to choose among for the DSS. ^^ Last edited by Menarker; 04-30-2011 at 12:50 PM. |

Well, yeah, but then you said NUH UH and then I switched it around.
And I'm pretty damn certain I told you what their line-ups had ended up as. Basically: Sam: Palkia Gardevoir Scizor Torterra Dusknoir Carracosta Sophia: Tsujimi Darmanitan Rotom Heracross Mismagius Hydreigon But yeah, I guess I'll switch Sam's Dusknoir for Cofragigus.

I have the conversation saved and you said you took out Mismagius and Carracosta because of Whitney's Mismagius form and Shizuka being assigned Carracosta respectively.
On second thought though, I could perhaps give Omastar to Shizuka instead. It got the highest special attack of all non-legendary water pokemons. Luckily, they also both got the same total base stats. :3 I guess you could switch out Mismagius for the Dusknoir that you replaced with Cofagrius. Then it would be something like Sam: Palkia Gardevoir Scizor Torterra Cofagirus Carracosta Sophia: Tsujimi Darmanitan Rotom Heracross Dusknoir Hydreigon Last edited by Menarker; 04-30-2011 at 01:16 PM. |

Cool. ^^ Made the changes in the database.
AB: I've made some changes in the database and have some things to show you and ask you when you get the chance. Also, in the RP, Renny is currently attempting to talk to Whitney. Just in case you want to add something before Drac finishes his post (hopefully soon). |

Questions answered, hopefully to your liking.
As for Renny talking to Whitney, I'll just hold out and make that post for when Dracorion does his stuff in which case Mirror will unlock the door and the teams will reunite and encounter their next battle...so, a really big post on my end coming up, too. Don't have the Violet and Ricewood profiles made yet. I got drawn into Portal 2 and beat it. What a nice ending. Now to see if I have any puzzle loving friends who'd wanna do the co-op campaign with me. Anyways, I'll try to have those two profiles done as well as a few more either tomorrow or earlier this week. |
