As far as the Cairo Overcoat is concerned; we still only know absolutely for sure that Jack is The Demon. There's still a very small chance wordplay will fuck over Jack = Lord English there, but I'm not really expecting it. Really though, Jack can probably look like whatever the hell he wants at this point. At any rate the Lord English from the MC intermission is, at the very least, at least somewhat further in the timeline than this. I'm still thinking the lack of a graphic in his name is an indicator that he's already been fucked over at least to the extent that he can no longer achieve whatever he wants by that point. Quote:
Ah, and maybe that's why she goes back and threatens John - she's pissed off because she realises it was her fault all along but blames it on him for having tried to prototype that doll. Obviously she gets over it in time to give him her fortune. Pure speculation though.

Yeah, I can't really say for sure. I suspect she's mainly just been trying to do her part to make sure the timeline goes exactly the way its supposed to ever since she first contacted John, as it's the most expedient way to get things to the point where she can see what happens, since there's no way to win until then. But I could just be giving her too much credit. She does seem to have her own plan, though, what with her numerous, incalculable fire irons she has.
Also, I will not be surprised if we see a Broquerelsprite in the near future.

Part of the reason I think Vriska's reason was more emotional is because I can see Doc Scratch sending her a message confirming that she did exactly what he expected her to. Which would beg the question: Did Bec play into Scratch's plans, did Scratch play into Bec's plans, or can they even be considered to have plans, being mainly facilitators and all? I favour a combination of all three, 'cause I kinda feel like Scratch may be a double agent and not even realise it due to the gaps in his omniscience. It would make his drafting of Snowman into the cause make a lot more sense. Both have plans, but their plans are inevitabilities, and they know this but follow through on them anyway because they're Doctor Manhattan.

I'm not entirely convinced that he isn't still some distant future version of our Jack who has been out and about devouring universes for eons, buuuut... hrm I don't like to speculate that Lord English is something totally external to what's been going on, especially since Scratch seems to have plans that involve Jack. Scratch is a First Guardian, so he works specifically to ensure that what is supposed to happen happens. If he's an agent of anybody, it's probably the Bilious Slick. Like I said awhile back, this sort of seems like it could be the Bilious Slick creating his own satanic figure. Maybe consuming universes isn't quite the right way of looking at what Lord English does. Maybe it's more like taking them back, Rapture style. It could be that the Bilious = Lord English then, but something about that seems wrong. All of a sudden, a lot of things don't really add up anymore. Then again, others do... Edit: Keep in mind, Bilious Slick was never presented to us as his actual name.

Well, I don't know about you, but I'm still sticking with "Jack kills Snowman, ends universe, summons Lord English."
Who the fuck English actually is, I dunno.

It does seem like a likely thing that could happen, but I don't think it would be a good thing for Lord English if it did. Of course, what we don't know about Snowman's "power" vastly outweighs what we do. He'd have to do it in Alternia's distant future, at any rate. Unless the Scratch fucks things up to the extent that the timeline doesn't even matter. Otherwise, right now, locking Slick in the safe is Snowman's Stavromula Beta.
Edit: At any rate, Hussie did say that Jack = Lord English is merely inconclusive, so it's still not off the table.

Clearly this was a monumental achievement
Hey, pos! Congratulations!
I'm really happy for you, man. You were right. On the internet. About a webcomic. This... this is a great day for you. You've achieved so much, I... I... Oh god, I'm tearing up. Pos, I'm so proud of you. You did it. You really, really did it. Never stop believing. In other news, what gives, Vriska? Seriously, what the fuck? |

On the subject of Jack being LE, there are still a lot of hints if you look at the Intermission. LE's vault was hidden behind a door with a spade on it, which recognized Slick's barcode. We know the Jackspers still has his bar code, and as different instances of the same character, it stands to reason that their codes would be the same. This next bit is just a guess, but The Felt are glowy-green, have limited time-space powers, and are entirely unlike any other creature that has been seen in the game. My theory is that they're constructs made by something with First Guardian powers, sort of like sentient Green Lantern constructs. It wouldn't surprise me if Jack could make something like that; he was already an "Ace," has a quad-prototyped ring, and now the power of Bec.

HO . . . LY . . . SHIT . . .
Blindfoldpinatatargetpracticeforever!! I was also suspicious about how one reckoning could totally disaster-rape Earth to look like what it did. Granted that the meteor was huge, that thing would have probably torn off a good chunk of the planet. But then the planet would be knocked off course due to mass-displacement. But an omni-blast shockwave that wipes out the entire landscape minus Jade's island works. I must know how Bro and Davesprite and Cal died!! NEW THEORY: Doc Scratch will now take a more active role in events, and if in fact Bec Noir is not Lord English then there will be and epic battle between the two (despite it being "none of his business" during his convo with Aradia) and then Mr. Vanilla Milkshake will be slain due to his growing uncertainty with his omniscience. In the end Spades Slick Jack will slay his super-evil counterpart. He has the crowbar, and the pin doll and I think one of the alternate timeline Felt in storage. EDIT: Skaia mutates with each prototyping, I wanna see what it looks like now. |
