umm... it shows him kicking... how is that being cut of at the ankles?
I said when he's standing.

And, you know, looking at the sprite, and visually trying to change it by picturing it in my mind, I cant think of a way of fixing the skinny legs problem. Oh well. It kinda makes him look like a ghost, though, the way it makes a pointy tail looking thing.

I'll get used to it, though.

Nope. Comic 300 is the most clever part.

Wait... haven't the law-ninja always worn red?

Not that they're particularly effective ninjas, but they're stil ninjas.

If you think about it, Thief's new crazy pose looks kinda odd. In fact, the more you stare at it, the weirder it becomes. Firstly, if we look at the positioning of the arms and legs, you'll note that the raised arm position looks rather similar to the kicking position. Secondly, his left arm (on our right side) is positioned oddly. It almost looks as if he's holding his leg. Why would a ninja hold his leg? It's almost like it looks like he's about to strangle someone with his legs. Next, if you look at Fighter and RM's poses, they match the casting sprite positions. So it makes people who've played FF think that Thief is going to cast by kicking now, except it's probably just custom-made for a coolness position (I never did understand why the black mage in FF1 would use casting animation for the victory dance). Also! His shoulder is in the same position, though his head is moved backwards. But all this may just be 'cause I'm crazy and seeing things that aren't there. Hail Big Brother.

Question. Has Red Mage's eyes always been lower than everyone elses? Looks that way now with Red Mage + Mimic/Blue Mage/Taskmaster/??? (:fighter: It is still a mystery what Red Mage is).

I think we should keep all of Thief's ninja sprites in the comic dark grey. Maybe if it were to be preserved in a shrine 1600 years in the future, Brian could add a note that explained what happened in #652, but for now let's keep it a temporal inside-joke.

I was going to make some kind of remark about Thief getting Bahamut's class change in #651 then stealing dark grey from #652, but then I realized that wouldn't work, then Aragrine posted it.

There are several ways to see Thief's full standing pose. Sprite. Position. In #651's last panel, I'm pretty sure it shows his the full volume of his feet/legs/leg area, which I'm almost sure it did when Thief was red, and there's a thread that has recently been bumped to the top with sprite sheets of all the LWs and their upgraded sprites and a bunch of other people too. Here, have a link.

#300 is part of today's strip?

Hmm... comic 300 was changed as well.... What about the one where Red Mage was talking to Thief about how if he invested all his points into pickpocketing and used semantics to apply that skill to everything, he could use the excess points to become a super ninja, and it had the red-colored ninja suit Thief in that one? Did that one get properly processed by the Ministry of Truth?

One thing, Brian. Haven't you said repeatedly that there will be no time travel in 8bit theatre? Looks like you lied, man. You let us all down. All of us!

That was both unexpected and highly entertaining. Rock on, Brian! This really makes me wonder what will become of BM, though...
