Off to our adventure!

Hm, a castle to our north and a town to our south. So many options! First let's check out how powerful our sorceress is!

60 leadership won't get us very many troops at this point, and a spell power of 2 isn't much to brag about --

"Hey! I was just born you know."

-- but atleast we don't have to pay a lousy 5000 gold just to do magic. She gets enough starting money to fill her abysmal leadership with a fair army, thankfully, so we're off to a decent start.

Without further delay, let's check out that city!

"Ohhh, maybe there's some fiery death spells there!"

Yay, our first spell, and it makes a bridge. This is easily the most worthless spell in this game, for the record. But let's buy it anyhow, just to have magic.

"But it doesn't burn things!"

I know. Well let's look around some more, maybe we'll find something more useful.

Treasure! You would think that a treasure this close to the main castle in all the kingdom would've been found already, but King Maximus seems to lack any royal subjects besides Tynny here.

To my dismay, we will see much more of this on this horrid little continent. We distribute it to the peasants to get a tiny bit of leadership. With this kind of random treasure, we'll always take this action. Leadership is very valuable and our crumby little sorceress needs the boost.

Let's go visit the king. Surely he has something more rewarding than pittance of gold or a freaking bridge spell.

Wow, all of two options at the greatest kingdom in the land. I'm overwhelmed.

"Now this is the kind of greeting a great sorceress deserves! Lay the gifts and commissions on me, King Maxxy!"

Yes, though the king has entrusted us with the mission to save his life and kingdom, it's beyond him to help us out before we do anything. Let's go check out that recruit soldiers thing.

Say hello to our exhorbitantly priced starting army. With Tynny's low leadership though, we can only get about 31 Militia (Hello Fodder!) 6 Archers (Total Awesome) and 6 Pikemen (Tanks!).

Now that we're done with our recruiting, let's go explore a little. The last treasure was a little to the west, so maybe there's more there!

Treasure placed across the water from us! However will we get there!

This is a really, really good treasure for this continent, honestly. I'm surprised it was here. It's rare that the 500 treasure pops up.

The ironic thing is that this is almost always a 500 gold or 100 gold deposit. The irony here is that it costs 100 gold to get a bridge spell and 500 gold to rent a boat. This island's all about breaking even. The sign says "Treasure Island".

I hate signs, just so you know. They give useless information about 99% of the time, and take up little red dots on your map to make you think there's treasure, a monster dwelling, or a town or something there. They suck and should all burn.

"Burn?"

Shut up Tynny. With the newfound leadership, we get a whomping 5 more militia, 1 archer and 1 pikeman, then we go to the east, maybe there's something a little nicer that way.

Oh hey, look, a week has passed! This means one monster dwelling gets repopulated and --

Pay our lousy troops who haven't done anything yet! But there's a wandering monster to our right that I can take these seething rage out on.

Say hello to our army. Peasants and sprites (The two worst monsters in the game) happened to be our starting army, and while I take pride in making fun of Tynny

They're too awful to waste a screen shot on.

The green monsters to the right are orcs. They're like archers, only they get half the amount of arrows, but have twice the melee. Useful if you stumble across them early on, since ranged attaking is rare.

I do my best to make the sprites kill each other, but by the beginning of my enemy's turn, this is what it looks like --

The sad thing here is that archers have all the attacking capacity of a peasant, and retaliation is 50~75% damage. So the archers just attacked with the force of 3 peasants.

Sprites suck.

I also hate peasants, so I try to get rid of as many of mine as I can.

If I were playing this game for points, I'd try not to get these guys killed, but I'm not and I hate them, so haha, fuck you peasants.

I run my militia up to the orcs to stop them from firing on my archers, and then have my archers pick apart the orcs.

A turn passes with little to do but pick away at the scrawny orcs until

We finish our first fight, and our losses are 10 sprites (Burn in hell you winged little bastards), 5 peasants and 1 archer (NOOOO). We quickly restock on that extra archer before doing anything else. And how do we pay for it?

Delicious, delicious spoils.

That's it for this update. I'll give you guys an option the next update which'll be up later today or tomorrow, since I've got all the screenshots ready. But I want to play Dawn of War Dark Crusade a bit before class, so screw you guys. =P

In a way this game reminds me of The Four Crystals of Trazere, also known as Legend, which was a great game back in the day.

Mesden, your act of story telling leads my soul to weep with the tears of a thousand grateful children given the finest gifts at Christmas (Guiltmas) time.

I was utterly bewitched with the charm and interaction, and also with the colourful dialogue that you had with not only Tyr, but also with the poor peasants.
The one archer, George, will be fondly remembered, and buried peacefully under this oak tree on the main contenant.

Please, will you continue this very engaging story? I must have more.

Once again, Mesden, thank you for your ownership in this game and the way you are playing it for all of us to enjoy.

One of my best buds used to have this game! Then we lost it somehow. HoMM Is great, but it just isn't the same as this nonsense oldschool fun!
