The Obfuscated One
|
Mr. Wright, do you ever use that enormous head of yours?
January 8th and the defendant's birthday are the same day. The idea was that everybody in a position of power must grant requests to those who procures a present on certain important days, like their birthday, or the day of their daughter's wedding. I was going to ask him to stop trying to take over the NPF. I'm pretty sure this has been a plot on half a dozen movies, and also Freakazoid. And, as anybody familiar with the subject would know, this kind of logic is par for the course in an Avvy RP, and stood a fairly good chance of working. As for not asking Fenris about implementing my ending, what do you think started this trial?

Thank you for the reminder Edgeworth, but you may need that very information soon enough. I reference your witnesses Original Testimony! Quote:
If it was not to happen for more than a week from the end date? In addition concerning your ending... If that AIM conversation is to be believed, it seems as though my client rather enjoyed your version of the ending, and would be the type to include it. But then, had you really been friendly enough, you could have merely sent him an IM saying you were to end it on his birthday. This fault lies with you. The defense requests a recess until tomorrow, for the defense has matters which require attention for the remainder of tonight. ((Such as sleep. I do have parents and stuff still.))

I too am tired, and maybe a clear head and a slower pace will allow for more content and less circles. Court is now in recess! We'll review tomorrow.

District Court Courtroom No. 4 Court is now in session! Yesterday, we heard the testimony of the victim in this trial, Newb. While he had heart and spirit, upon review, I found that the entirety of the day was spent on discussion of whether or not POS was justified in his closing of his own game. This was not what the trial is about. The trial is about whether or not POS Industries would make a good moderator. Today, we will hear POS Industries testify on his own behalf. I swear to God, she was already dead when I found her! Er.... Heh. What I mean to say is.... Hi, everybody! So, I'm on trial regarding whether I'm fit to be a mod, eh? And Newb's taking issue with my role in Avvy 5. How droll. I suppose we should start from the beginning. After several months of Arhra's run as GM of the fourth NPF Avatars RP, a new thread was started by the Games and RP Moderator, FenrisWolf. Now, Newb asserts that I first victimized him when "blatantly stole the position in line" that he and PyrosNine had supposedly staked out sometime prior. However, as you can see, a voting mechanic was put into place in which Pyros was not even on the ballot and, even more notably, Newb's own idea came in at an abysmal last place. During the months spent GMing Avvy 5, I'd like to think that I at least did a decent job of maintaining order, most notably in my dealings with a couple disruptive players, ruling that GM approval was needed in advance for any use of Arhra's infamous chaos magic, and eventually requiring post summaries from Wizardcat and Newb, whose posts are often difficult to interpret by the other players. Regarding the way the RP stopped, I can assure the court that it is merely a temporary pause to give myself and the playerbase some fresh air before returning in a couple months to save the NPF in a glorious epic dealie. Most of the people involved seem to be quite excited. As to the ban regarding no new Avvy RPs, this had nothing to do with my RP. Fenris had initially started a thread regarding Avvy 6, which immediately caused a number of us in chat8bit to request he delete the thread and give us all some time off. He agreed, but then several minutes later Newb performed thread necromany on an old Avvy 6 thread from late October/early November, hoping once more to get his shot at running an NPF Avatars RP. As a result, Fenris issued a ban on new Avvy RPs for the next six months. However, we're getting a bit off track here. While I don't feel the need to defend my own hypothetical moderation abilities, I would like to note that there were three separate threads regarding regular forumites ideas as to who would make a good mod, and in all of them I was mentioned positively numerous times. I won't go so far as to assert this as proof that I could do the job so much as it shows that most NPFers seem pretty confident that I could.

Very well. Mr. Edgeworth, you may begin your cross-examining. (POS's testimony will be added to the Court Record upon FenrisWolf's return.) |

With pleasure, your honor. Quote:
I think the court will be the one who will judge these 'dealings', Mr. Industries. Can you elaborate on these conversations? Quote:
If I remember rightly, the call to lock down the thread was made by this "FenrisWolf" character. Can you prove this was your idea? Quote:
(Erk! This isn't going well. Who the hell stuck me with this case?!) Very well Mr. Industries, but as they say in the courtroom; Evidence is everything. We shall be the judges of your moderator capabilities, not friends on the forum.

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "conversations". If you're referring to the disruptive players to which I alluded, I'd rather not name names as I have nothing to gain from dragging other forumers through the mud. It mostly just boiled down to repeated incidents of godmodding after a number of warnings regarding the problem. Their characters were either killed off or they were politely asked to leave the RP. Other than that, I've been quite specific as to my handling of other in-game issues. Quote:
Well, unlike Newb, I'm not one to log every single IM or chat8bit conversation I have, so I can't show you the exact conversations. However, I can tell you that Fenris was only doing what I asked of him in locking the thread. Quote:
Well, I'm no fancy big city lawyer, but I don't think it's your job to deliver a verdict on the case, either. However, I would like to point out that these threads were clearly not a popularity contest, as there were forum members who are far more well-liked than I am who were not mentioned. There is no one on the NPF as universally beloved as Mauve Mage, for example, and yet she was never suggested once.

Very interesting, Mr. Industries. Please, elaborate on 'Godmodding', if you would. I will not demand that you reveal embarrassing information, but I will request you to elaborate exactly what it is the perpetrators in this case did. It's no secret that the rules of the Forum Games escape me - I simply wish to know more.
