somebody doesn't like radiohead...
and my estimation of the dead is just based on sales and whatnot, they weren't too successful economically. but yeah, give it another 20 years, Radiohead will have it's place in music history, and then the hipsters will laugh, they will laugh the laugh of the satisfied know it all. just you wait sir. |

Yeah, I sure hate me some Radiohead. It can't possibly just be the sort of shit Funka was doing that pisses me off to no end. I mean, take the bad rep that Tool fans have for acting like they know some big damn secret to the universe for liking Tool and magnify it by a hundredfold and you've got Radiohead fans.

At least Funka isn't going off about how any band that has ever aired on the radio is inherently bad and a tool of the government to control us. That's gotta count for something, right?

Music is one of the few things I know very little about but I know most of radioheads back catalog. About the only other bands I can say this of are super huge bands that get played everywhere like the Eagles or the Beatles or Queen. Believe me, if I know all of Radioheads songs they are ridiculously mainstream and popular. |

ha ha, I think it's funny how you said "music is one of the few things i Know very little about"
that's just pure moxy right there. but I never claimed radiohead wasn't mainstream, or that know it all hipsters weren't annoying, or that possessing obscure knowledge on any subject made anyone inherently cooler, just that radiohead rocks and deserves a place in music history right next to the beatles. you disagree, fair enough. Lucky for us time is the true test of a band and not our biased opinions. I think you've got something against indie fans for whatever reason, but I don't think that changes the impact of Radiohead on the music world. I mean, it's the band people like, not the fans of the band. |

Radiohead are one of my fave bands, and I think they've done some inspired stuff... but they're not the kings of anything. Funka, I think you confused them for Nirvana. That's the band that most recently changed the face of modern music, and I'm saying that as someone who is much, much more into Radiohead than Nirvana.
PS- Ideoteque? Really? First time I heard it I thought, "Oh, that's a neat Aphex Twin vibe they're going for, with a touch of Paranoid Android so we know it really is still them." |
