This is like every goddamned non-mech (so far) action anime trope rolled into one and I want to kill it until it's dead.

Going for intentionally campy doesn't make something good. They're overdoing it, and that makes things bad.

I believe this game shall be polarizing, as if you have a sense of humor and play, you'll like it, but if you don't, you'll hate it.

It's just a game, and stop thinking that game A is rediculous, when you all enjoy playing game B about a plumber who eats mushrooms to get big, beats up giant turtles, and bodyslams/butt stomps dragons, and game C where by the end of an adventure, a boy originally armed with a wooden sword can be able to kill God, and often does so.

Go play Godhand. Shadow Hearts too. Especially the third game. Lots of camp doesn't mean something will be bad, either.

There's also game D where a mammal turns blue from running and saves his planet from a mad scientist but they've lost a bit of the charm lately.

Now I might have to see about this game just for the sheer lengths that this game may go to spoof DMC and God of War.

Yeah, he said that there's obviously DMC influence, and that that much is apparent, but he's also trying to make it its own game beyond being a DMC clone.

As mentioned I want to sex Kayima's butt for making DMC, but than again DMC3 was made by a completely separate guy so I dunno.

I do have a sense of humor; it's just this is like saying 'you should have a sweet tooth' when you're trying to pour Karo syrup down my throat.

Note, I said "They are overdoing it", not just "A lot of camp guarentees it will be bad and unwatchable".

Shadow Hearts was a good series. It worked with its anachronistic campiness because it was actually pretty well balanced. Balanced with some touches of Lovecraftian-style horror.

This game, however, seems to be throwing that balance out the window and just going all out over the top, which is really tricky and hard to pull off, even if you've done it before.

Seriously, it's getting to the point where if someone says something bad against this, people are going "Well, it's campy, it's supposed to be that way, you just don't get it." No. I get it perfectly. As someone with "Mars Attacks" on thier DVD wishlist, I get the intentional campiness thing perfectly. I just don't see the end product in this case working that well at all. The game itself looks fun, but I just cannot accept the package it comes it.

We'll just have to see how it turns out. Though I have high hopes, now that I'm done being an asshole I can definitely see where Mike is coming from.

I am really hoping this game has a catchy theme song as good as God Hand's. Very few things are more awesome than that song.
