Bello had some concerns with the plan. "Hold on, Jal. Did you actually see the other guys? What are we up against? Do we know they have the book?"

Of course, ethical concerns were left out of his complaints. They were a well-matched team, after all.

"I think your plan may work well Jal, but what if they do have the book?" Ralts asked in a low voice. "It may get damaged when they fall in the traps. And they may also be aware of the traps, and avoid them completely," he continued, "a direct attack may work better, because then we can keep the relic safe, and if we're lucky, we can still keep them off-guard."

Jal scratched his chin for a second. He hadn't actually thought of the safety of the book. He was more worried about his own skin, as was customary for a thief of his stature... but then the book meant money and money was good.

"Well... they do know about the traps, except the one in the next room... but all the others I could set off in my wake. I didn't open the door to look at them, though. That would have almost definitely given me away. I'm not sure if they have the book, and I suppose a few of the traps, like the falling spiked ceiling, might damage it," he elaborated with a bit of a shrug. "Well, I suppose I'll leave it up to you then. They almost assuredly have the book. They're closed up in the room with it, after all, and they're almost assuredly not going to give it up--they braved the traps, bled, and lost a life trying to find it... Oh well. I disarmed and discovered the traps, so I'll just leave the rest to all of you," he finished with a roguish grin as he leaned against the inside of the door frame, waiting for the others to decide on a course of action.

"My suggestion is that we simply le them have the book," Ralts said. "Wait there's more!," he quickly added before the others got the wrong idea.

"My proposal is that we let these chumps risk their lives with the deadly traps up ahead, and just wait here for them to come back with the book, and ambush them in a similiar vein to Jal's original plan" he explained. "This way, we still have the element of surprise, they may have their numbers more diminished and/or injured, and we hardly have to anything." Ralts finished confidently.

"If you have any problems with this plan then say them now or forever hold your tongue."

"Well, the only problem I have is that other than the next room," Jal jerked his finger toward the darkened room, "Which I already set up to hurt at least one of them, as they didn't seem to have figured out the 'no light no crush' thing, they aren't going to fall for any of the traps without someone setting them off on purpose ahead of them. The ceiling won't fall unless you push a button, the water bridge has already been disabled, and wasn't dangerous, anyway, just time consuming, and this room... well they already figured out which tiles move, and therefore which ones to avoid. Plus, I don't really like the idea of waiting. There might be one last trap in that last room, and we could end up waiting forever." Jal stopped there, turning away for just a moment before something else caught his mind, "Oh, yeah, and if they're coming back with the book, that still leaves the book to be injured by any traps they don't avoid, doesn't it?"

"Then we simply deactivate the doom statues to keep the book safe and catch them off guard, seeing as how they will probably expect statues to murder them and not us, the traps may not hurt them, but we still have an ambush on our side." Ralts suggested.

"Alternatively," he said, "we could just continue forward and attack them directly, but that removes some of the surprise of the attack."

Bello raised his hand. "Um, I have an idea. If we want a surprise attack, what's more surprising than a lone Tarut? I go in there, play a lullaby, and at least some of them are down. Though, I'm fine with Jal's idea. I figure, as long as we don't set them on fire or anything, the book should be fine. They'll be trying to protect it, too, remember?"

"Actually," Bello continued, putting his hand on his chin, "We could combine the two. Jal lures them in here, you guys cover your ears and stay back, I 'ambush' them with a lullaby, and then you guys swoop in on whoever stays awake." Yes, he did the air quotes and it was adorable. "In the best case scenario, we don't even get our clothes dirty."

OOC: And by "stay back and cover your ears," he means stay out of the Short range of Routine Performance.

"Actually, we'd be perfectly capable of ambushing them from the room right outside the door with a plan like that," Jal piped in. "We could simply hide behind the door on either side, one of us could hit the button to open it and Bello could start playing his music."

The toothy grin Jal was displaying quite often came back then, "And, best of all, if all else fails we can still retreat and drop the ceiling behind us."

"Do you think we can all get there, though? I know I can if I follow your lead, but you're the only one who knows how the rooms are past here. But, if you think we can, then let's go with that plan. If we need to use the ceiling, I propose that the signal to run is 'fuzzy slippers.'"

"Oh, the traps past this point are simple. There's the stone giants, but they won't attack unless we use a light, then there's a room with 20 foot fall to the floor, but a pulley system that I... uh... rigged... to always be pulled... most of the way..." Jal stammered out as if a bit self conscious about his methods.

"Aaanyway, it floods the room and raises a bridge, and the last room just has two buttons. The left button opens the door to the room with the chest, and the right drops the ceiling. IF we have to use the ceiling, I suggest everyone get through one of the two exits to the room first, and I'll stay behind to push it. I'm probably the fastest... unless one of you thinks you're quicker," the mithra said with a grin.

"Either way, if no one else has any objections, let's go and get our prize."
