It might have something to do with the series being Evangeline Lilly's first (and apparently last) major series so she doesn't have anywhere near the experience in acting that someone like Terry O'Quinn does. I do agree though that the males do tend to out act any of the females in the scene, but Yunjin Kim is of noteworthy mention, since she usually acts just as well as any of the males on the show.

Probably not to the part where the Fonz jumps over a shark on water skis.

[These are actually spoilers for Utawarerumono, for real] Aruru totally should have stayed dead. I mean, Gundams were a pretty cool addition, what with fighting them using Ewok tactics, but Godzilla Jesus was just too much for me. Plus, after that, Bunny Princess goes crazy, which sucks 'cause she was pretty cool. [/end of the show spoilers] It's still a cool show, though, regardless of the last few episodes.

Yeah, that's the bit where I started wondering what the hell was going on in the writers' heads.

Finally watched The Dark Knight.

It's really sad none of the villains are coming back in the next movie.

Such awesome potential.

Any comparison with Terry O'Quinn is going to be unfair to the other actor.

Not quite true.
Micheal Emerson and Terry O'Quinn duel as actors as if they were Gods commanding legions of lesser souls into battle.
And it's a beautiful sight to witness.

EDIT: Seriously you could give Micheal and Terry any argument between any two characters on any script, written by any man or woman, and those two would transform the scene into something beyond the comprehension of the likes of Shakespeare.
Name your least favorite movie of all time, replace the head actors with Micheal and Terry, and imagine them saying the dialogue in their all-too-deliciously-suspenseful way. It's bliss.

Point.

In fact I think the Henry Gale subplot might be the best subplot of the entire series, and that's in no small part because of Emerson.

Let's see now...

The Daily Show - I'm still waiting for the next Jim Kramer to walk on stage. Jon Stewart is very good at pointing out the stupidities of others' actions.

The Colbert Report - Of course, this is the jelly to Stewart's peanut butter in the Comedy Central sandwich. Lately he's been losing some of his ability to stay in character for his bits.

The Late Late Show - As of recently, Conan O'Brien has been getting a lot of attention. Since my timeslot for that period is consumed by Colbert, I typically end up switching over to Craig Ferguson for my secondary late night entertainment. The guy is a fantastic comedian, and far superior to that of the robot NBC put in place named Jimmy Fallon. Admittedly, if Conan were still doing the Late Night show, I'd probably be watching him. What really impressed me, however, was the sheer intelligence of Craig Ferguson. His interview last night with Stephen Fry was simply excellent, and I'm not even sure if it was a rerun, but I don't care. It was that good.

Woo... got off to a bit of a rant there. Anyways...

Heroes - By god, I'm clinging to life for this show, because I want it to work. It's just becoming way too emo for my tastes.

Chuck - God dammit, you screwed it up! The thing that made this show brilliant was the dynamic contrast of the characters! Making Chuck an actual spy has fucked that contrast in the ass, and now you have Kristen Kreuk hanging around as a sidekick and sucking face with him? UR DOIN' IT WRONG.

Smallville - At this point, I just want to see how the series will end. I think they've done just about everything they can do with a college-aged Superman.

House - I grow tired of them rehashing old subjects, but the psychopathy episode was pretty damn cool.

Pokemon: Galactic Battle - Okay, okay, I know what you're thinking: "WTF?" Well, I've been on the whole pokemon kick lately, and I saw this when I was browsing through the guide on my TV. On a whim, I decided "what the hell". As it turns out, they took away the deus ex machina factor, which actually made me pay attention to the show. Ash got his ass kicked in a 6 on 6 battle by some super-serious emo dude, and they actually implemented the game mechanics in the episode (pikachu getting burned, light screen transfer). So yeah, I'm watching that now.

What am I watching right now? The olympics and nothing but.

Hockey, because I live and breathe that sport. Speedskating, because I've always been kind of interested. Figure skating, my best friend growing up was a figure skater and Elvis Stojko was one of my heroes. Curling, because I've been curling since I was 10. Also, I watch the women's too. Partially because I used to go to the rec center where Sandra Schmirler worked, partially because I've met Cheryl Bernard and she's a super nice lady, but mostly because I keep eyeing up Britain's skip. Eve Muirhead is an exceptionally talented young lady, if you weren't aware. Oh, and she's exceptionally pretty.
