Crisis Core isn't available for Vita?
...I'm not sure whether I should be disappointed or grateful Square-Enix is sparing me from the inevitable disappointment of a crappy sequel. (Going to exploit the hell out of the back door workaround to get Valkyria Chronicles 2, though)

You mean Prequel. CC is a retelling of FF7 Zack's back story.

Don't do that at all, Maverick Hunter X is the bastardized clone of Megaman X. If you still insist then I demand you watch the Sequelitis episode on Megaman, play the Maverick Hunter version, then cry. |

It's the same exact game with new graphics. The power ups are in the same place, the enemies are the same, the bosses are the same. The controls are just as tight and responsive as on the SNES. It is literally the same exact experience with a shiny new fully voiced coat of paint. The only real downside is the fact that X calls out attacks when he uses a Maverick weapon. That does kind of get annoying. The game has two amazing things going for it though. Hard mode and Vile Mode. I heartily and readily recommend MMMHX on the PSP.

I'm taking a good hard look at Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky.
Also Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite. Patapon and Patapon II, too. For those of you who've played Dissidia and its sequel: Is there any reason whatsoever to pick up both titles? I figure if the sequel has the exact same character lineup (only more to choose from), it'd be worthless to get the original.

Advanced warning: Legend of Heroes is homophobic.

The 'why' is directed at the developers, not Kim

That's not the only thing there is to it. There are some other differences between the game (balance changes, some game modes dropped in favor of replacements, a different extra-hard extra story compared to the extra-hard extra story int he first game, etc.), but in terms of number of characters and story modes, Duodecim is absolutely the superior choice. There are also new stages, more music and costumes, and new moves for most of the characters. If you're into Kingdom Hearts or Castlevania, I'd suggest Birth By Sleep and Dracula X Chronicles, respecively. BBS introduced the best fighting system in the series, and DXC is a great port of Rondo of Blood, and contains a newly-translated Symphony of the Night as a bonus. |

Aside from new characters and some chracters playing different. It really comes down to rather or not you care about the story. 012 is a Prequel by the way. It takes place before the first game. EDIT: Never mind, 012 is the better choice seeing as it does still have the first game's story mode along side its own.
