Ara ara!

Uh, what exactly is a wit user? Kildre started the RP. I've just happened to create this discussion thread and the Chapter 2 thread.
On a side note, D&D is really the only place that makes the distinction between demons and devils. And going by D&D an erinyes is only the devilish counterpart of the succubus. In mythology they were female vampires or something similar I believe. I'd have to go and check it up.

ok, first off, can you stop putting in the brackets and stuff? My head asploded when i read it. Here's a basic character sheet that you might like to scam off: Name: Age: Sex: Race: Description: Equipment: Abilities/spells: Background: That's basically it! you don't need to put in your character's moves and stuff like that, then put in explanations in brackets. It's simpler like this.

Okay, okay Arhra, point made. There are different factions in the abyss however. On a related note, my 3.5 MM states Erinyes can be male or female, and are generally archer/fighter types. Nothing like a Succubus at all.
Nope, computers in any shape or form would be pretty much out of the question. Interesting character design. But I'm sure a lot of us dont know exactly what a "Wit-user" is. I'm thinking from your discription that they are a kind of druid or ranger, in tune with a specific animal type, who is a sort of natural "Aspect Warrior" of that particular animal? The alaspinan minidrag sounds like a little brother to the true-dragon species. I'm pretty sure we (the DnD familiar players) refer to that as a "Pseudodragon" A small snakelike creature who breathes fire. Although it could be acid, depending on the subspecies.

The medium version? hooray for animal friends! But I only get one, and my wit beast is like a part of me, if he dies, I'm pretty shaken up, way more than someone who has simply lost a pet, and for some people even more than if they lost their mother, father, son, or daughter. Also my wit-beast and I can switch bodies for short periods of time. The long version? Read Robin Hobb's Farseer or Fool's Tragedy trilogies. The Liveship Traders, the trilogy in between, is interesting but does not include use of the wit or the skill.

Rhiya, I think he's trying to say his character is a Ranger/Druid or similiar Nature-loving class who is attuned to a particular animal type. His "Wit-Beast" is much like a Wizards familiar, only much more personal. He's a Pseudodragon aspect warrior, with the Pseudodragon companion to match. At least that's what I'm getting out of it.

Name: Ilgivan
Age: 24 Sex: male Race: human Description: tall, thin, wiry, dark hair, emerald eyes Equipment: hard wearing adventurers outfit, 2 blades between the length of a dagger and short sword, bow: status effect enchantment, quiver: replenishing Abilities/spells: (wit/usable) sense motive, mind-link with Alemeria, mind-link with other wit users, stun/throw with mind(very weak at low levels); (skill/dormant) drain, telepathy, manipulate minds, read minds, scry Familiar: Wit-beast: Alemeria the Psuedodragon(acid/poison) Background: the last descendant of a royal family which fell from power over two thousand years ago, but as far as he is concerned, his father was a farmer, his father's father was a farmer and so on, and he does not want to be a farmer. Idiosyncracies: Like many wit users, Ilgivan prefers to call it "old blood". The common method of greeting between them is "old blood greets old blood" said both aloud and through the mind-link Until I can come up with a better description or find a site devoted to the series, I guess the aspect warrior description will have to do He naturally has both the wit and the skill, but he has only been trained in the use of the wit, so he doesn't get to use his skill powers until a stressful situation where the dm says that some power is used automatically, from which point I can have Ilgivan explore the use of the skill.

A small dragon, about the size of a cat.
It seems ok to me at least. More information on what exactly the wit and the skill are would be good though.

no, as i tried to explain earlier (evidently I failed) its a meter long flying snake that spits acid/poison, and I was told that that was a psuedodragon
The wit and the skill are basically flip-sides of the same psionic power, the wit being the natural form, and the skill the domesticated form. Most of the time, people only have one or the other, although most people have a minor form of the wit without knowing it. The wit is primarily used to bond and communicate with a creature, but that creature must also have the wit, and be willing to make the commitment, which is why bonding under the age of 16 is frowned upon, and anyone who bonds with a newborn creature is ostracized from all of old blood society. The skill is a more traditional psionic power, being used to directly attack a mind or to conduct a battle from afar, but due to the skills outright use of raw power, it is very draining, and often a powerful skill user will have a coterie of six individuals whom he draws upon for power. Those who use both may treat their wit-beast as a coterie, or may allow their wit-beast access to the mind of their enemies. The former gets you kicked out of the older blood community, and the latter gets you kicked out of the skill society. Being natural powers you don't lose them, but you can no longer expect help from the communities.
