I'm gonna be honest, I have no idea how Kagi should handle being shot at with Kurama's light blade things. Anyone got any ideas? Or team awesome want to actually help an ally?

I'll try catching up and seeing if maybe Chizuru can be useful. 'Cause Shizuka's too injured to provide assistance and Yuurei is probably more vulnerable to Raigaki's holy attacks than Kagi is, not to mention how far away we must be to Kagi's current position. Ghosts tend to be less resistent to magical attacks in JRPGs, particularly holy spells.

Alternatively you can try a dynamic dodge by throwing your sword at the ground and using it to leverage yourself back to earth. You'll have to abandon your dynamic entry, but you won't die!
