That your WoW character by chance? Very cool. I see he's got his beast form too. I like the colours.
Holy shit I just figured out there's little stick people bits comin' outta the bush's mouth. THEY'RE ALL DEAD! NOO! Poor Bob. :gonk:

Older brothers are the ginchiest
Heh, that took me a minute, too. She does some fantastic artwork, but this is the only kind of thing I usually get to see. :P Ideally, she'd be illustrating and I'd just be writing. I probably can't do my own drawing for a few days anyway, as something happened to my dominant eye (not serious, it's just annoying explaining to everyone why I'm now a pirate). (Incidentally, I did manage to put up a list where I'm linking older stuff as I find it / as the mood strikes. But none of it is nearly as interesting as BUIF.)
Before that, I'd started on this, dedicated to the insanity of younger relatives: Biggest Bro (Paul) hasn't the slightest idea what she's talking about, but he's handling it pretty well. It's pretty much just a Hallmark moment without the second page, though, which should read something like: CAPTION: Younger siblings. LAUREN: (holding Paul's cell phone to her ear) So what is this? PAUL: Just listen to it. PHONE: *BEEP* Hi... uh, this is your brother, James. I just wanted to say, happy birthday. And, uh, you will be buying me beer now that you're 21, right? Cause that's what older brothers do. Um... no need to tell Mom, either.*CLICK* LAUREN: ...Is it? What older brothers do, I mean. PAUL: No. (Based on an actual message a friend of mine got. Said friend is a classic geek who likes programming and D&D; his brother concerns himself mostly with booze and being popular. You've never met two people from the same gene pool who are less alike, and they don't get along very well.) And yeah, I also wondered if that was your WoW character. Also, how did you do the hair? It looks awesome. Last edited by katiuska; 10-10-2007 at 05:00 AM. |

Mauve - It's kind of cool to just have the character colored. I like the hair and your shading. ^^ And thanks. My roomie did like it.
Katiuska - Poor bob the camera man. And cute comic. ^^ Skit - Very cool. I like the demon thing in the background. Yaay something actually from my art class. The assignment is to draw a self portrate of yourself in a costume portraying either "nurture" or "strength" and then along the bottom make a story (out of pictures) explaining it. I ams a samurai! big version: Obviously it's not done yet. I was thinking about doing it in pen and ink. (also, sorry about the picture quality. It's too big to scan and we don't really have a good camera here) It doesn't really look like me... but I think it looks shaweet.

Considering my pictures all look like stylized realism (at their best), you did a hell of a job on the self portrait. I really need to start using photo references, or a mirror that isn't wonky.

I had this ink-drawn version of my eyes staring back at me in my dreams last night, which was incredibly weird. The worst part is that my brain apparently knows how facial features should be rendered to look realistic, but it never actually ends up on paper. Someday I want to go back and finish the self-portrait of me falling asleep, but I'm afraid it'd end up looking cartoonish again.
Anyway. Yes. Shaweet is how it looks. My only complaint is that it's a little hard to make out the details, but ink would probably solve that. |

Not trying to be mean or anything, I'm just sayin'. Oh, to the person who asked about the drawing I posted (CelesJessa): It's not that big. The paper is only 11x14 I think. |

(heh sorry, I'm proud of it, I'll try not to post too many more progress pictures. I don't have any idea of what to put in the bottom space. any ideas? It's supposed to kind of symbolically tell a story or something...

You could put something along these lines. You don't need to credit me or anything, unless you think the class requires you to.
I think the symbolism explains itself.

OH MY GOD! XD Stupid stick man.
That's drop dead amazing CJ! You used stippling didn't you? You poor yet patient thing. I wouldn't mind more progress pics, to be honest. All I can think of for the bottom strip is that it need to be a cut from a different scene all together. Like maybe a long shot with silhouettes of a couple samurai warriors running at one another. You could do some sort of gradient effect on the sky to divide it into separate frames, rather than use actual frames. It could show different shots of them through their fight, with like, the last one with only one warrior still standing honourably. I don't really know. They wouldn't have to kill if you didn't want them to. Okay, this isn't a sketch but a photoshopped version of a Garfield comic. It was already doctored when I got my hands on it from the Meme Thread, but I thought the addition of the laser, as well as sound effects and completely roasting Jon was worth sharing.
