My main suggestion is to shut down the server, take the file with the terrain. Identify fire and start knocking out fires within that area without having to mess with lag and buckets that may or may not have a helpful fluid.

Hell, I'd do it myself if I was running the server.

Can't connect to the server, I hope that's a "fixing it right now" kind of can't connect rather than "server no longer functions" can't connect.

The lag seems to have weakened and I'm watering down fire now. Hopefully this will help it become controllable.

Those things literally go on forever. I have yet to find an and and gave up. I'm slowly working my way down making paths and mining out the stuff I see
