Holy cow, I've missed a lot while I was on vacation. I don't know where to start!
TDK - That knight guy from three pages back looks pretty good. I particularly like the cape. Capes for the win! And I really liked your Dante vs Iron man, although at first I thought that Dante might have been Edward from FMA. Celes - Crazy awesome character sketch. I really like the hair. Ryong - Very awesome sprite-work. I really love the glowyness of the sword. Doc Ock - Long live scratchboard! I absolutely love the drawing on it. Keep on scratchin'! It makes me want to use that scratchboard I bought a couple years ago... And your vader picture made me laugh. Khael - Holy cow that's awesome. Hands hands hands. I bow to your hand-drawing skills. Savage Thinking - That's sweet. I really like the subject matter of it. Very cool take on having your little avatar draw yourself. TopHat - Batman! Very nice. I like the cell shading that you used on it.

Obviously Edward would win. =D
Well, today was an epic day for me. After over a year of working on this picture, I finally finished it.

Holy shit, CJ, that's amazing.
Beyond the totally amazing colors and everything, I just have to ask; how do you come up with this shit? This is great!

Actually not. Hah. I'm guessing its whatever part of my brain that makes stuff like this come out. Sometimes crazy stuff comes out, sometime awesome stuff comes out. XD this one in particular, I knew I wanted to draw someone playing with sidewalk chalk and the sidewalk chalk turned into something more, and then from there I just filled the upper half of the page with anything that came to mind. There was more drawn, but after a year or so, and my inability to make some drawings clear enough, I had no idea what they were supposed to be, so I played it by ear when I started coloring. I'm glad you liked it though. ^^ Coloring is usually my weak point (in my opinion), so it's nice to see a picture that is pretty much 100% coloring go well.

News: I am completely in love with WALL-E, so I did this really quick:
Please note that I used this as a reference. I usually don't try to follow a reference so closely (unless in art class and I'm supposed to), but I really wanted to see how to color it to make it look cool and shiny, like in the movie, so I tried to get as close as I could to the original. The hardest part were getting the eyes to look digital-ish. I opted for the black background because it makes making something that white so much easier. XD It's my crazy little dream to maybe work for something like Pixar someday. EDIT: Also! Thank you Cid! As long as you were talking about me and not the other Celes. I wasn't sure whether to take the compliment or not, since there's two of us. XD Hehe. So if it is me, thank you a bunch!

CJ, that first picture you drew kicks major ass. The outlandish and surreal nature of the drawing is really amazing. What stands out to me are the buildings. They just seem so crisp in comparison to everything else and just immediately catches my attention.
The girl, however, bothers me. The way her face is angled, it seems like less of it should be showing. Her arms along with her shoulders looks like she's really stiff. Her torso seems too long and her legs are angled rather awkwardly. The coloring for the overall picture is just spectacular. As for the EVE picture, the shadowing is pretty spot on, but the use of shapes to make the basic flat figure is kind of off. Like nudging over some of the shapes just a bit would help a lot. The shadowing for the top part of her torso would need some touching up as it just seems wonky. Looks pretty cool overall.

Oh hell, I didnt realize there were two Celes, on the same page, even. But I meant Jessa.
In any case, thats not to undermine anyone, as everything Ive seen is excellent. Have to go through all 90-some pages of this (at max page size, even)

From an RP, myself as an elite special knight of the empire, vassal to the empress, archchancellor (Mostly because the previous archchancellor is...indisposed, due to my actions.), captain of the knights (knights, holy knights, dragon knights, and bear lancers), and caretaker for the palace dogs. The cat tail is a long story. I like this drawing. That's a Bear Lancer helmet I'm wearing. Its like a dragoon helmet, but instead of being shaped like a dragon head, its shaped like a bear head. And that's a Bear Spear. Last edited by TDK; 07-07-2008 at 07:19 PM. |
