Savage Thinking - I think that female figure looks pretty good. Very nice job at the angle.

TDK - Your art is looking better, I would still work on the forshortening, especially on the hand closest to the viewer. The anatomy in the left arm actually looks pretty good. The sword looks nice too.

Skweeb - I have to say, honestly I think this is my favorite of a lot of stuff that you've done. It just looks really nice, and the blue paint on him is excellent. Share your painting skills with me, please!

Doc Ock - Very nice pose! I particularly like his left arm. It looks nice.


Last night I decided I'd work on some art for me, and I started working on a project I haven't messed with in awhile, so... I realize there is a ton to fix about it (I was mostly putting down the shapes and basicish colors for now), still any pointers (especially in the coloring department) would be super helpful. I know that coloring is not my strongest point and I really want to get better.

I think her head is too big too...

CJ, one thing that bothers me is the nose. It looks broken or something. But, because I'd rather not type like a ten page essay describing myself, I'd figure it'd be easier (and I'm lazy) to show you a picture instead.



First thing I'd like to address is the nose. It's straight, but has that curvature to it. Next, is the the eye line. Which implies that the left eye be nudged down a bit (thought I personally think the right is just fine).

Next is the red next to her left eye. That's where I'd have the hair go over her face because if it were back any further, it looks like she's kind of bald.

Last thing is the right side of her face. Looked too narrow so I drew how I'd have done it.

Ah yes, I have redone her face so many times, I can never get it to look right, but I think your draw-over looks pretty spot on. Thanks a ton. I couldn't tell exactly what I was doing wrong. I'll have to make the changes you suggested.

Ah yeah, I suppose they are too small. Maybe that will help make the head look smaller. I have bad issues with randomly making certain parts not in proportion.

EDIT: Aaand apparently I have awakened some sort of magical, innate ability to draw metroids:

What the heck, it just happened. That settles it, I'm just going to crop the picture around the metroid, and be done with it. XD

Listen to Lustmord for five hours with a wacom tablet ready and liberally abusing the opacity and flow brush sliders. It is a very surreal experience once you, if you, hit that zone where all reality is filtered out other than color, shades of color, and lines.

She's not done yet, and was originally gonna be an updated concept sketch for a race I've had around since grade seven. I got carried away and now she's partly coloured. Aw crap, I forgot about adding sharp highlights to her face and hair, doh! And yet I didn't put any clothes on it... oops. Nothing shows, so if I get a warning for this, well. I'll be surprised if I do actually.

Not too far from the truth, really. An auditory stoner, one could say. Hell I regularly use and experience all sorts of oddities through I-Doser (Binaural Soundwaves used to synch brainwave patterns in a variety of ways to incite different reactions, perfectly safe and crazy shit I tell ya).

Probly why I love ambience, especially dark ambience, so much and is nowadays the only thing I have playing when artin'.
