That's pretty much the state 95% of people who have played N+ stay in...I will never look at co-op games the same way ever again.

Hehe. That's funny.

Done during an especially long car ride, dunno what inspired it. Perhaps the song I was listening to? Ghost Love Score - Nightwish, but I dunno if that fits. But anyway, here's Queen Qeeko from Ultima-Java:

Christmas Present for my sister:

Edit:

"HULK SMASH"

"Why does Hulk ALWAYS smash?"

"What ELSE do you want Hulk to do? Hulk do taxes? Hulk shop for groceries? Hulk KNIT? Hulk SLEEP! He sleeps angrily. Punches consciousness into submission."

Clearly the sweater is not Hulk sized, but it is stretchy. Because you see, sometimes Hulk Cold.

"HULK SMASH! Agh! Hulk cold!"

I think you've won here. We need HULK INTERPRETIVE DANCE.

EDIT:

So I used to have a character who was minimalistic in style - sort of 2-D like a shadow. Originally when his mouth was shut I didn't draw it at all. He's since been altered into a whole species, and I wanted to keep that mouthless appearance without actually compromising their ability to eat. So they do, but they keep 'em shut otherwise.

I'm thinking they'll talk using their nasal passages or something, but I'm unfortunate in that I might still need to draw them with mouths open occasionally and I don't know what that would look like. Would they have no bone between their mouth and nose cavities or something? Are there animals like that or with otherwise freaky mouths I could use as references? Halp!

You could have the lower jaw stretch or dislocate or something and give them massive teeth baboon style, like this:

That's sort of the vibe I'm getting from your initial sketch and the attached note. They don't open their mouths because their mouths are solely for fighting (aggressive expressions to me means fighting) and eating , so they should be, in my opinion, huge and pointy. Like if you'll imagine for the moment a human asking why this guy never opens his mouth and when he shows the human it doubles the size of his head with multiple sets of massive canines. Since it's your own creation you could even say the teeth slide into grooves in the facial portion of the skull, reinforcing the areas that would come under stress when he uses his horns. Or not.

But it would really help the most to know what they eat to try and find some reference material for you.

Oh man, the teeth reinforcing thing might help get them outta the way when closed. That ape is freaky and most excellent. I'd been busy trying to find references for their hooves, but unfortunately the closest ones seems to be a prehistoric species of proto-horse, so there aren't any 'live' photos. I'm glad to have some help.

They are currently herbivores, though they could eat other stuff if they really wanted to.
I'd forgotten that horns can totally equal massive headramming; they've got the legs to go fast enough for that to hurt. That's essentially what I meant by aggressive.
I should really draw the rest of one in something other than crappy ballpoint! :gonk:

Actually, I'm working a changeling-like creature as well, this pretty much describes the one character I've drawn up - maybe the Shaedys is where she got the trick from... hmm!

Some days...I just randomly can't draw. At all. Well, mostly faces...

It depresses me greatly...The above (mostly the right one) took me like...an hour and a half. Just erasing and re-drawing repeatedly because it looked like a guy for some reason and I couldn't goddamn figure out exactly why or how to fix it and none of the tutorials or pictures I looked at helped...Days like this make me hate myself.

What I did to improve my drawing of people in general was to look at the human body from a biological point of view.

This meant looking at the skeletal structure and muscular structure of how the human body actually works. In the case of the face it meant knowing where the jaw was in relation to the skull, where cheek bones protruded etc. If you're having trouble with faces it might be worth looking into this.

I also found this research helps with drawing bodies: If the figure strikes dynamic poses, you will have a basic understanding how muscles an bones should act. So when you draw the poses they will look more natural.
