Uncommonly common.

Name: Jason (if you can guess the last name, I’ll give you a cookie) Age: 25ish Sex: Male Race: Human Job: Rouge (ie: stealth, lock-picking, scouting, and the like) PoB: He forgot Blitzer: If you force him to, he’ll play. Maybe. Bio: Jason doesn’t really know too much about himself. As far as he knows, he’s always had a pair or perfectly balanced sais, and many knives, and he’s always been able to pick locks, hide, backflip off of walls, etc. He remembers a few things as a child, like running, playing, conning, stealing—things children do, but he has no memories of family or history. This suits him just fine, though, because he’s not one who dwells on the past. Actually, he might be. He doesn’t really know. (As usual, if you want me to change anything, just yell at me.) (Also, tell me the group of people I’ll be starting out with and I’ll stick it in here)

Also, the Yevon 'monks' were just following Seymour's orders. Before Seymour and [spoiler]the killing of sin thing{/spoiler} nobody but the Al Bhed touched guns. Quote:
Anyways, heres my guy...I'm a tad confused as to how to incorporate him into Magus' pilgramage though... Name: Zita Dysy Age: 19 Sex: Male Race: Al Bhed Job: Alchemist Place of birth: Bikanel Desert Blitzer?: No, is kind of scared of water... Short Bio: Ok, two choices for the bio, either (1) He was raised in the Al Bhed home of Bikanel desert until about a year ago when a expedition went to shit (a Sin attack maybe) and he ended up at the footstep of Magus' home. Since then, he stuck around the family that took him in and has decided to accompany Magus on his pilgramige although he doesn't really support the whole Yevon thing. Of course, that has a whole bunch of plot holes (how come he didn't go back, how does he still have ammo...) but if we can get over those, then its my favorite, over... (2) He's related to Magus in some distant far off fashion (cousin of the father's brother's roomate's thing) and doesnt want his relative going off to kill himself alone. This way, he comes equipped with plenty of ammo. I'll go with whatever. |

DARK HELMET: "Before you die there is something you should know about us, Lone Starr."
LONE STARR: "What?" DARK HELMET: "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate." LONE STARR: "What's that make us?" DARK HELMET: "Absolutely nothing! Which is what you are about to become."

Exactly. I don't want it to be close (like Rikku and Yuna) but I want him to have some reason to want to be involved.

Actually, Yevon Monks had always used Machina. The Temple is enough proof.
Also, Wakka's bro had simply joined the crusaders and chose to use an Al Bhed weapon. It was only during X that the crusaders fully embraced the Machina in order to fight Sin. As for both of your Bios, I have a suggestion to take care of any plot holes. The distant relation thing sounds sort of stupid, and would probably not overcome the racial prejudices that Al Bhed seemingly tend to have at the beginning of X. From your first Bio it's evident that Magus' family took care of him. Well, he could return home sometime, but then find out (or had already known) that his friend would go off to be a summoner, so when the journey starts he volunteers to be a guardian, either hiding the fact he is Al Bhed or Magus becoming Excommunicated. Why would he go through all this trouble? Simple, he feels indebted to Magus and his family. It's only a suggestion. |

No charge for awesomeness...

I wanna join, but I don't know crap about Final Fantasy X. So, a few questions:
1) Could I somehow use a Thumpman-like character here? And if not... 2) Can I call dibs on a dragoon-class guy? Plus... 3) Can I get some explanation on how the whole thingey works (all of it)? I don't 'get it' at all...

I'll try to explain it as best I can for you, Mr. V.
The world of FFX is in the far, far future, in a world called Spira, and machines are almost not used anymore. But the machines that still exist are very high tech. The people of this time constantly get attacked by a huge monster named 'Sin'. Sin destroys almost all major cities so most towns are just small villages. There is a person named Yevon who started a religion that almost everyone uses now. The followers of Yevon believe that all the machina (machines) is what caused Sin to exist in the first place. They also believe that Sin is there to punish humans for thinking too highly of themselves. There is another group of people that disagree with Yevon. They are called Al Bhed. Usually, they are the only ones that use machina. They speak a different language, but some speak both languages. They are dispised by most Yevonites (I think that's what they're called...) and most of them live in another area of the world that they call 'Home'. The only form of entertainment is something called blitzball. There are teams all over Spira who face each other in tournaments. Blitzball is a lot like soccer and football. I won't go into how you play it actually in the game, because in real life it would be a lot different. It's played underwater with 3 offense, 2 defense, and 1 goalie (I think...). There is a 'blitzball', and if a player has the ball, they swim around and pass and stuff. The opposing team can tackle the player with the ball to get it. They have to shoot the ball past the goalie into the net. They are also alllowed to kick the ball. The time when Sin doesn't appear is called the 'Calm'. The Calm usually lasts for years. Summoners must go on a quest to get to the Calm, however. Summoners go to specific temples to pray to the gods. If they are strong enough and have enough will-power, then the god will help the summoner on his/her quest by being summoned. They must pray at every temple to get the 'Final Summoning'. The Final Summoning is the most powerful summon and summoners use it to defeat Sin. However, after using the Final Summon the summoner is killed. Guardians are the ones that protect the summoners no matter what while they are on their quest. That about sums it up, but if you want to know the position of towns, etc. you're going to have to ask someone else. Btw I'll have a bio up today. |
