Probably. I've even been biting my own impulse to bitch everything to death in the interest of not seeing the thread get totally derailed. And I mean, this is me we're talking about. Could be fun as a separate thread though?

I'd like to think that Eureka Seven is a sacred cow to me, but I always remember when Adult Swim busted up the ending and Joshelplex posted that the show deserved it and he couldn't wait for Ghost in the Shell: Second Gig repeats. I didn't say anything. I mean, I was I a frothy rage for a while, so it's probably a good thing I didn't, but, yeah, that proves that I don't care about the show enough to get banned for it, so it can't be a sacred cow.
I will third (fourth? I dunno) Calvin and Hobbes. The only way I can see someone not liking it is if they were born after it left papers and never read it. Seriously, though, fuck Joshelplex.

Okay, you know that game series Monster Hunter? You know the one that has no story and people that review it say the combat system sucks? Yeah if I could get my hands on their grubby little necks.
Monster Hunter doesn't have a story. That is because Capcom realized they couldn't write a good story so instead of trying to write a bad story they just said fuck story and let you go play the bloody game. Thank god. No, there isn't a lock on system, you are suppose to not have it auto-guided because hitting different spots deals different damage, you have to aim with your sword or gun or bow and hit the weak spot for massive damage. Okay, I may be willing to admit that there is a chance of camera causing problems, however its made by humans hands and I have long ago accepted the fact that man may never make the perfect game. They can only hope to accomplish making something nigh perfect, that in the end there will be one or two games that they can hold up in the light, and despite their falls their glorious light will cause millions to fall to their knees and weep. And yes the Monster Hunter series is that. |

You guys no what mine are, especially you NonCon so I don't need to reiterate by saying how I hold Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 as the epitome of RPG greatness.

Also, I'm not saying it's an excuse. Here's what I'm saying.
We have people in two states: those who have read Calvin and Hobbes and those who haven't. Those falling into the first category understand that it is a fantastic comic. Those in the latter may not. This is the internet, and it makes people do strange things. For example, people will base their opinion on something they've never read/seen/done/eaten/heard/etc solely on the word of other people on the internet. Some of those people influencing other people may have also never read/seen/done/eaten/heard/etc whatever they're discussing; they were just influenced by further other people first. Also, people on the internet may say they like or dislike something solely to stir up trouble, also know as "trolling." We are all familiar with this concept. So, what we come to are people who have read Calvin and Hobbes, who (by virtue of having read it) understand what a great comic it is, that call it crap solely to stir up trouble. Then we have the people born around 1995 who haven't read the comic for some reason that pick up these "opinions" and repeat them, because the internet makes people do that. The latter group is the one I was referring to earlier. Trolls were left unaddressed because I assume that everyone here understands that there are trolls for everything. So, am I understood? I'm not saying being twelve is an excuse, I'm saying that people on the internet, by-and-large, are a bunch of idiots. Idiots like Joshelplex. That jerk.

Oh man, this reminded me back when I was a little boy and I was with my parents at a book store. I innocently come across a C&H book, so I looked through and decided that I wanted nothing more in the world than this here book. At which point I went to my parents and asked for them to buy it for me only to have them give me and ugly look followed by a "I'm not gonna buy you this filth!"
You know what it's like to leave a bookstore with all hope torn away from you like a fallen soldier ready to meet his end? Because I do... Anywho, my sacred cow is probably Street Fighter; more specifically Alpha 3. It's my favorite in the series and I disregard anything negative about it as heresy.
