I kind of like it with either getting rid of the fist or the rest of the jewels all-together. With both it just seems very busy and my eye can't seem to find the focal point easily.
I kind of like something like that instead. (perhaps also adjusted to make the scroll a little shorter to accommodate. If you want the other ones on there too, Perhaps it would work to swap the red jewel with the blue one in the fist. As I look at it, my focus keeps being devided between the fist and that red jewel, the red just naturally draws the eye towards it, but at the same time, the larger fist does as well, which makes conflict visually. (Or maybe just switch it from red to some other less-loud color?) Not sure if that would fix the problem, but... *shrugs* At least that's how I feel about it.

Well, I originally put them all in there in those colors because the six colored orbs are the colors of the command orbs used in the game. The dark blue orb is there because of its own importance as Jet's personal orb, which represents his right to use the power. Just for my explanation.
Does this make everything readily apparent? Edit: This isn't to say I'm ignoring your feedback. I'm definitely taking it into account. Plus it's kinda fun to make all these variations. I must be easily entertained. XD

I think that definately looks better. Although one small change, would it be acceptable to swap the orange stone places with the green stone? It seems a lot more balanced that way. If not, it's not a huge deal but it was a small change that I thought looked better.
And one beef I had was with the torn edge, I think it needs to look a little more organic, it doesn't look very natural. I just did it to the corner, but maybe something more like this?

Hey, yeah, that does look better overall! Much better balance of the colors. I'm not quite sure on how deep the tear on the corner goes, but it definitely does look more organic. I'll see about finding some sort of happy medium. Thanks.
Edit: Here's my happy medium: To me, it looks fairly old, but relatively well-taken-care-of. It's cracked along the edges from being rolled and unrolled many times, and the top is a bit worn, but it's not outright torn up. Opinions? Feedback? Constructive criticism? I really would like to know if it looks to others like it looks to me, because I have an inherent bias as the creator. Also, fixed up the lettering. Opinions on that?

I don't particularly like the ripping now either, it looks too manufactured. Like someone purposefully cut little triangles out of the parchment.
I know not as deeply ripped as this, but maybe use this for reference, especially the very edges. I mean, if you like it, that's fine, but I'm just pointing out my opinion.

When it comes to depreciation of materials there is a solid law that has never failed me: Less Is More. A single rip here, a smudge there and the age is implied instead of forced down the viewer's throat.
I'll use a quicky manipulation of a picture of the Pripyat area I whipped up as an example: Now visually there is a lot going on in the image. Technically speaking I can break it down very simplistic like: Rule of Thirds. Upped contrast, RGB tone, and blur. An overlay of a burnt film negative. Torn border edge along the top. That's all there is to it. It's a very simple but effective layout tool. Something to always keep in mind when working on the The Power of Commands screen. Listen to Swkeeb! He knows what he's talking about!
Just a picture I drew on Tegaki that I'm pretty proud of. Someday I'll stop doing MGS fanart. XD

Blues, one thing I'm curious about is the 'New Game' and 'Load' part. Is it gonna be the same font size as the copyright info? Just curious, as breathing room is very important (and honestly, any bigger and it starts to get cramped), Also, to make something look torn, the lasso tool (or something of its equivalent) works wonders.
CJ, I'm really diggin' the flowers. Like seriously. The angle in which the body's posed in conjunction with the face seems off, though. Maybe rotating it away from the viewer's direction just a tad bit would help. Petals are a nice touch too. Okay guys, I've spent countless hours on a landscape 'digital painting', and holy crap am I proud of it. A lot of experimenting, screw ups, and headaches were involved, but damn me if I wouldn't do it all again.

Wow. Very very nice! I love the colors used! I don't know if you've ever heard of Ben Glenn "The Chalk Guy" but it looks a lot like his pictures (which is a good thing, I love them)
Very nice usage of reds and purples.
