And in all honesty, I was expecting a flare gun or some smoke grenades or something like that. And it must be floating inches off the ground like that becasue it's got some kind of special ability or something like that.

I approve of your comics, mortals...and furthermore, I officially reccomend carrying around a multitool and duct tape at all times. Even when you have magic, you would be amazed at how many problems those things solve.

But are they Archmagi? Do they know the very flows and currents, the moods of magic on such an imtimate level? Have they known the sweet caress of raw power, and not just accessed it, but improved it with skill? Can they, through act of will, alter the course and flow of their spells in mid-cast?

Besides, I was here first. On the other hand, BMG and Mauve have the Anime Girl power, which allows them to beat the snot out of any male under certain preset conditions.

No, it's floating because it's waiting for Fenris to hold it HIGH above his head and make some "Item obtained!" noise! You can see it clearly in its smooth metallic surface. Simply screaming "I want to be a quest item!!!" ^^;
