Oekaki, IIRC, is generally used to describe drawings done in MSPaint or some similar program. EDIT: Or, actually, drawing programs that are part of the browser.

Moe has more or less just become slang for cute, as far as I can tell.

Ah it's been explained probably better than I could but yeah, Oekaki is just an online drawing program. I don't really get what "moe" is exactly but thanks. XD As long as it was cute I am satisfied.

Apparently celebrating Mio's birthday is not uncommon amongst otaku.

That's kind of creepy, although, on another hand I know a lot of people who celebrate random days important to their fandom just because it's fun so I can't really judge them (as long as they're not being freaking creepy about it).

That actually looks really good the way it is, Ceej. I'm guessing you're probably going to shade it, but save a copy in that flat color. You'd swear it was some sort of Japanese poster art. Sure, it's a stylistic choice, but the color scheme's muted palette really lends itself to it.

Seriously, you could slap a title on the bottom and market it as a poster for a big movie.

The gold logo has been bugging me on my last version. Not that I wouldn't prefer a gold logo, and it even works mechanically (yes, it's supposed to be raised, and it would fit into the hole left by the big screen (also, the power button would be automatically pressed in if you closed the unit)), but it's quite frankly a b*tch to get a gradient on anti-aliased text and I'm really not happy with it at the moment. So I whipped up a version with a printed-on logo, instead.



I think it looks a bit cleaner, but I'm worried it lacks visual impact too much. It's realistic that a logo would be printed, but I already asked Phantom and he dislikes it. I'm wondering if it's fine or better or if I might break down and use some fancy alpha masking to get a better edge definition on my gold gradient.


Edit: For comparison, I went and did this up instead of sleeping like I should:




Edit again: I think if I'm going to go the gold route, I need to make my high- and low-lights thinner for better definition. But not tonight.

CJ - Looks great so far.

Blues - The display is turning out very good. I'd say use the gold text. It looks better to me.

Corrected errors, but there still seems to be something wrong with it (aside from cleaning). Like I missed an error or two. Hmm... Meh.


Should be done soon. Next week at the latest.

So... yesterday I was bored out of my mind and had absolutely nothing interesting to do. So I drew some random soldier guy.
The gas mask looks kind of fugly because it's supposed to look like the ones from old NBC suits.(like the ones from the 70's) and as you can clearly see.... I have no idea what a bulletproof vest looks like lol , but I tried to draw it similar to the ones Barry and Chris use in Resident Evil 1.

All colored up. Might get done tomorrow, might not. All that's left is to shade and add clouds and effects. (like give the ocean a nice sparkle). May need to look up a tut for that last thing though.

I actually had some issues with my cursors. Apparently, Visual Studio doesn't take 32-bit or animated cursors (despite using Vista's), so I ended up having to redo them. I still need to do my wait cursor and loading cursor, but I need to get them into a still frame, first.
