I don't know why I love Gau hanging over the edge like that so much, but I just do.

The painting is really nice too.

Intriguing informations. Heh, I'm imagining Daryl had a nude painting of herself hanging in the sitting room of her airship. Seems kind of fitting with what we know of her.

My picture is all photoshop. To go into unnecessarily specific detail, the lines and blocks is made with a basic brush like 50 pixels wide which I then hacked away at with a slightly smaller white brush. Colors, as per usual, with a crayon shaped brush and linear burn/linear dodge modes.

I don't know how to use layers.

PS. A probably not even NSFW picture but omg nipples in silhouette.
The idea I had here was an image of glowing sunlight shining through a window in the morning and setting the whole world on fire. Warmth, brightness, peace, joy, rays of light playing like liquid music as they are cut against the shapes in the light.

Ah, the shapes, barely recognizable human figures, their contours dissolved and their faces erased in the soft light. They seem like ghosts, like light barely condensed into matter, dancing weightless in the dawn.

They are lovers, and here is tenderness, the lack of obligation, belonging, lust patiently restrained. Their lips touch, so close we can almost feel the tingle. We can almost lose ourselves in the nearness of these people, almost feel the smell of sun-warmed skin and obviously delicious morning breath.

That was the idea anyway.

To be honest, Gau has been my favorite part of that picture since the sketch.

They're pretty simple actually, basically it would be like if you were drawing on pieces of perfectly clear cellophane and you can use each piece to draw a different part of your picture. It helps keep things separated and easy to fix if you decide to change it. (Of course there are a lot of other things you can do with layers too, like masks and adjustment layers and such)

You don't need nearly as many as I have here but there's what mine look like.

And if I hide the layers that contain my lineart, the picture would look like this.

Hopefully that helps. There are probably tons of tutorials online explaining layers better than I did but hey.

ADDITIONAL EXAMPLE because I'm wasting time:

When I first finished the picture all of the colors were a little too saturated over the entire piece like so. So I made a layer that basically looks like this when it's all alone, but when put on top of everything else, it made the final image.

Thanks. I'm really more into primitive old school techniques that don't require layers, but now I feel like looking into it. Never too late to learn and stuff.

Nothing wrong with that. I usually don't have so many layers (sometimes I don't really use hardly any at all) but that picture was particularly complicated. There's no harm in knowing about them though, you never know when they'll be useful.

Default Damn it! I'm addicted to posting bad taste art!

CJ- once again your stuff continues to be very awesome. X3

Damn I wanted to wait till I got Dantz and maybe Wolf-man (both male by the way) sketched and colored before posting the next set but, meh why not since they're already drawn anyway here they are. Didn't like how Xaniras turned out so I might redraw her. Also didn't like how Brittney turned out so I might just redesign her completely since her out fit is too... damn I can't think of a nice way to discribe it.

So behold! My shame that I can't bring myself to hide any longer!

Xaniras Vandalia (The Crimson Assassin) WIP
I warn you, Xaniras turned out very bad! Very very bad!

Queenie's sisters from left to right (Costa, Nicole, Brittney Aroma) WIP

It really doesn't help that I did mess up alot on that last one. It's what I get for rushing to get it out of the way.

I drew a thing and I'm fairly happy with how it turned out!

EDIT: Animated version...

Liz- If you want any advice on animating a walk cycle, let me know (it's kinda my thing) anyway, it's a neat little pixel drawing thing you have there.

I drew this a few days ago but here. It's Faris from Final Fantasy 5

PS. Col-erase pencils are awesome for sketching and where have they been my whole life?

Also Locke, mostly practicing coloring.

Thanks, CJ! And yeah, I'd appreciate any advice you have. At the moment, the main problem I'm aware of with that sprite is you don't see enough bend in the legs. Tried to put some in, but I couldn't get it right, thus shufflin'.

On a related note, here's a test image I did for a background.

And a walking down animation...

Also, those FF pictures of yours are awesome.

I think part of it is you might want to move the shoulders a bit more? Something feels stiff/awkward about the animation.

Edit: It might be that the left leg is coming down towards the "camera" while the right leg is following the way the dude is facing. Might want to make them both go the way he's facing.
