Well, against a role claimed PO, only defense is that he would be lying. Roleclaiming the PO on the first day and taking a guess at a mafia member, if he guessed right, he would be immune for the rest of the game to all suspicion.

Though, since the BG can protect everything, the PO should always reveal himself first night.

Edit - It shouldn't work like that. That makes a revealed PO immune to everything unless the BG dies. Then they can just sit back and reveal roles while the mafia hopes for a BG kill.

That means the only chance for the mafia is to randomly kill some one and hope it's the BG. That would take several night, during which people will be revealed as townies or as mafia members, and no lynching a townie.

With an super BG, there is no down side to roleclaiming the first day. (Edit) Unless the maifa gets a lucky 1-3 night BG hit, so they can then kill the PO.

IHMN, the bodyguard is the defense, there is a big risk in roleclaiming the first night. While sure, the bodygaurd can defend the PO from anything, that means no one else is going to be defended, whatever role they have. That means all other evils are free to do as they will, till the BG dies, and there is the possibility that the BG is going to be targeted by lynchings even, such as then almost having to roleclaim, and I think you can see the picture.

I shall not be swayed on this unless you bring up some unforseen point that I had not thought over before.

Am I the only one who finds it extremely suspicious that IHMN is complaining about the bodyguard being overpowered?

Not that it matters much, though. We really have no reason not to vote for IHMN right now. If CmP is lying, then we will know and can lynch him tomorrow. If CmP is telling the truth, then we have eliminated a mafiate on day 1. Either way, we eliminate an enemy of the town, so it's a win-win situation.

Yet the problem is that as CmP reveals who is townie and who is not, it lowers the amount of people to pick to hit as to who may be BG. True it is possible he would find the BG and say he is a townie, but he has just as much chance of finding the BG and the mafia hitting the BG.

Though I will vote for IHMN, since it is the best way to tell if CmP is lying or not. If he is lying, and IHMN is a townie, then we know who is dead tomorrow. If he is telling the truth, then we just follow his advice.

Knowing that the BG is going to defend some one makes very little difference. The chances of the BG guarding some one and that person being targeted by the mafia or cult leader is low. If there are 15 non-mafias, 1/15 are killied, and 1/15 for the BG choosing that person. That's less then .5% that the BG protected the right person. Also, that doesn't include the BG accidently protecting a mafia member or the cult leader/member who could be killed at the night. (Edit) Also doesn't include suspicious people being targeted, though several night role also aren't acounted for.

And why would people lynch at all when they have a roleclaimed PO telling them who is and isn't mafia members? Why risk lynching random people when everyone can no lynch and wait for the PO to role claim. By the time the BG dies several people will already be known townies, or another mafia or two could die.

Edit - I'm complaining because it doesn't make a very fair game with cult-protection as well. If all games use that rule from now on I won't join.

Also, if CMP is lying, but guesses right, he's immune.
