Yep.
I'll try to come up with a new character by the end of the day. EDIT: Heh. They only character I've been able to come up with is jailbait for Krylo's vamp. Yeah, I'm not doing that. Well, no, actually. I have an idea for a copycat (not a shapeshifter) character but I'm having trouble balancing it.

Up from the dregs! It's... the New-guy! Dun dun duuun.
So yeah. Teal told me about the RP and conned/blackmailed me into posting a bio. So, here it is. ^^; Character Name: Wolfgang "Wolfy" Blues Gender: Male Age: Old enough Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited Class: Ronin Special Abilities: Wolfgang is not a normal human. A member of the Inugami tribe in Japan's sect of the supernatural, Wolfy is a sub-human who takes after the Black Wolf. Shape-shifting: Wolfy has the ability to shift into the form of an animal; in this case, a wolf (normal sized), but lacks the ability to change his form much beyond that; he never bothered learning things like making his fingers into claws or the like. His beast form allows for faster regeneration; however, he has to concentrate for a bit before he can shift, and even then the process takes several seconds. His pants are generally destroyed in this process; his jacket would be too, but he's made a habit of stripping the coat off and carrying it in his mouth. Kenjutsu user: A fancy way of saying Wolfy studies swordsmanship; rumors state that Wolfy even fought in the army of Nobunaga Oda once upon a time. Whether this is true or not, Wolfy's never told. Despite the wild possibility though, Wolfy is quite skilled with his swords, to the point of being at or beyond a master's level. Religious Organization, The Shinmei-ryū: Based in Japan, this elite order of swordsmen and women are devoted to the calling of Demon Slaying. The Shinemeiryuu use special swords, designed to conduct the supernatural power of sub-humans and latent psionics into holy attacks; the apparent purpose being to kill demons (but work equally well on humans). These techniques change in appearance, depending on the user's psionic alignment or race, but fundamentally are all based from a single style. Of this style, several attacks of note are what Wolfy considers 'specialties;' Zanganken ("Stone Cutting Sword"): A strike of the blade infused with enough energy to cut through stone. Zanmaken ("Evil-Cutting Sword"): A strike of the blade infused with energy meant to make evil spirits or demons disperse. Raimeiken ("Thunderclap Sword"): a slashing attack with lightning energy infused onto the sword. Other: Wolfy carries a small handgun, usually holstered on his leg. He's a decent shot, but unable to hit much more than a target the size of a full-grown man from too far away, sharp senses be damned. His ears and nose are very acute; loud noises bug him to no end, and he can pinpoint a source of good smelling food a mile away. His eyes catch small movements faster than most people?s, from his years training as a swordsman. Similarly, he's faster and more athletic over-all than normal humans. Bio: He harbors some unknown hatred of demons, but generally refuses to talk about his reasoning; aside from that, not much is known about Wolfy?s past, including his real name (A Japanese youth named Wolfgang? Really?). He claims to be a vagrant who's only been around for twenty years or so, but that?s impossible, isn't it? He says that ?maybe- he served with in a military when he was younger, and that at some point he picked up a sword and never looked back. Beyond that, there's no telling how he got where he is. Equipment/Belonging: The most important belongings of his are his swords, and he will throw a fit if anyone touches them but him without a very compelling reason. He carries two; a full-sized katana which he uses 90% of the time, and a mid-sized kodachi, meant to be used along-side the katana or when he needs speed over power. Without these, his demon-slaying abilities are inaccessible. He also carries a small, clip-fed handgun for those "Ohshit" moments. Knives to a gun fight and all that. Notes: Wolfy generally wears the same get-up; black pants of whatever material is cheap and durable, and a black leather jacket that falls to his ankles, effectively covering his black wolf-tail. He rarely wears a shirt under his jacket, and ties a red bandana around his forehead to keep his hair out of his eyes. His hair is also black (Are you noticing the pattern here?), and hides a pair of triangular black wolf's ears. Assuming he's wearing shoes today, he sports black Converse low-top Chuck Taylors, which he finds incredibly comfortable, unlike the rest of the world. Character Name: Jack Chorster
Gender: Male Age: 25 Organization: Big Bad Wolf Limited Class: Copycat Special Abilities: Copycat: Jack can mimic the abilities of any living being he touches. This ranges from powers to traits to a variety of other things. For example: if he touches a vampire he will gain all the vampire's strengths and weaknesses. If he touches a kung fu master, he will become a kung fu master himself. Similarly, if he touches a pyrokinetic, Jack will be able to control fire with his mind. His power is limited in that he can only copy the abilities of one being at a time (he can't be a vampire and a werewolf). Also, the more demanding the skill is to use, the less amount of time Jack can keep it. Things like copying basic driving skills or general marksmanshiphe can keep for a few hours, but stuff like martial arts, or more skilled marksmenship, or sword play he keeps from a half-hour to an hour at most, and stuff like psionics, super strength, and other such things he only keeps for a few minutes. While he can copy people's powers/abilities, he can't use them with the same finesse as them...so, while he can copy a kung-fu master, the kung-fu master would have an edge in that he has the experience and that amount of muscle memory that Jack can't completely copy. Finally, trying to copy inhuman stuff (demon/monster attributes) is a large drain on Jack, since he's basically human. So, after you copying super-strength/speed/whatever, he's are physically tired. Bio: Jack is descended from a race of sub-humans called Copycats, who are exactly like humans except for their mimicking ability. Copycats are a divided race, mostly just mingling with humans and going about their regular lives. Jack, however, found the lifestyle boring and decided to put his abilities to good use. He did some vigilante work until he was approached by Big Bad Wolf Limited with a job offer. He accepted, of course. Nigh-unlimited resources that can get him anything he needs to use his ability to it's fullest extent? Fuck yeah. Equipment/Belonging: Courtesy of Big Bad Wolf, and to take full advantage of his ability, Jack has an assorted collection of various close-range and short range weapons. After all, what good is it mimicking a crack shot if you don't have a gun to shoot? He chooses what to take before each mission. Notes: Jack is as plain and unimpressive as a guy can get. He wears a simple white shirt and blue jeans, is all altogether the kind of guy that blends into a crowd than stand out. I'm having trouble coming up with a good reason why Jack can't just walk up to an Outcast, touch it and become a godling. Maybe his power doesn't work on demons for whatever reason? Maybe he can't absorb an energy field bigger than his head? Beats the hell out of me.

You think a lot this varied could agree on a uniform? Heck, Patches would want something in twelve different colors, Nick would want something with black leather that was sparkly...no agreement at all.
Nope, no uniform. Just wear your name tag on the rare occasion that you are in the home office. Unfortunately, I don't have time to read the other characters (have to wake up early to go to work in the morning), but I'll get them reviewed tomorrow afternoon. Sign-ups will stay open until Monday evening sometime, withe the RP kicking off Tuesday afternoon/evening.

Hmm, a bit short on time so here is the feature most likely to make the character get rejected:
Superior Firepower: Demonkind is a blight on the world and so Shanoa was given all of the guns to shoot them with. Concept is basically having a hyperspace arsenal (about a person's volume) used mainly to store guns, lots of guns. Probably also storing kind of powered limb assist to allow such lovely weapons as anti-materiel rifles to be fired without dislocating one's shoulder.

SinrXIII: First off, I'm sorry.
I am so, so sorry that you got roped into this. Right, now that my 10th Doctor moment is over, let's talk character. There isn't anything necessarily wrong with your character, but you have an awful lot of abilities there. Trim one or two out, and we'll be in business. Dracorion: Not necessarily against a copycat character, but you said you where having some trouble balancing? Allow me to help! First off, how 'bout a time limit on the time you can keep abilities? The idea that comes to mind is the more demanding the skill is to use, the less amount of time you can keep it. So, say that copying basic driving skills or general marksmanship skills you could keep for a few hours, but stuff like martial arts, or more skilled marksmenship, or sword play you could keep for a half-hour to an hour at most, and stuff like psionics, super strength, and other such things you could only keep for a few minutes. Which keeps you from copying an outcast/fallen, because you could handle it for about 10 seconds before your body gives you on you. Also, I'd like to evoke the idea of "no such thing as a perfect copy": While you can copy people's powers/abilities, you can't use them with the same finesse as them...so, say, while you can copy a kung-fu master, the kung-fu master would have an edge in that he skill has the experience and that amount of muscle memory that you can't completely copy. Finally, I'd like to throw in the qualifier that trying to copy inhuman stuff (demon/monster attributes) is really hard on you...you know, seeming as you're still basically human. After you copy super-strength/speed/whatever, you are physically tired. As you might imagine, this is to keep you from running around with super-strength for the entire time. If these are okay with you, cool. If not...try again? Arhra: Well...most gunslingers use a bit of a hyperspace armory anyways, so I guess I'm okay with you calling it a special ability. Just...don't go too overboard with it. In hindsight...and since it is now evening as compared to afternoon...I'll keep sign-ups going until this starts.

Fair enough. Let's see...
I cut out the over-charged version of the thunderclap sword, mainly due to the number of people. I doubt there'll be a time when Wolfy needs to zap a large field of things. Likewise, I took out Unarmed talent, since it really doesn't fit the character all that well. The Shinmei-ryu bit really isn't an ability so much as an organization I suppose, though it could also be considered a sub-set of his swordsmanship skill. I dunno, it just looked like it went there. ^^; If anything else, I'd be fine parting with his shape-shifting and calling him a third-rate Inugami, since I'm not sure he'd need that ability. |

Thanks for the edits, everything looks good.
I look to kick this off sometime tonight. Good times should be had by all as me and my sleep-deprived brain attempt to hammer out an opening post. Sign-ups will stay open until then, so consider this your last chance...unless you are Arhra, who I believe is sole owner of a place-holder at this point, and I'll give him a break since he lives on the other side of the planet and all that. EDIT: alright, the RP is now up. Arhra, go ahead and post your character when you can. For anyone else who was interested in joining (not that there is anyone at this point), send me a PM to plead your case. We'll work it out through PMs so we don't clog up this thread.
