On episode 15 of SAO:
Will be talking about Shin Sekai Yori later. Edit: Okay, this is shaping up to be a great anime so far, that's all I can say. Last edited by Ryong; 10-14-2012 at 11:41 PM. |

So continuing from last season after having watched most opening episodes:
Awesome Tier Jojo's Bizzare Adventure Psycho-Pass Polar Bear Café My Little Monster Space Brothers Doesn't Offend Any Sensibilities Tier Ginga e Kickoff!! Poyopoyo Kansatsu Nikki Hatewatch Tier BTOOOM! Blast of Tempest Trite Tier From the New World Looks like a great season. Plenty of enjoyable shows for once, I only wish I had more time for stuff since I'm also finishing Legend of the Galactic Heroes (greatest space opera). Lavish production values, really awful pacing of a first episode. The script was disastrously boring.

It's ok, Ryong. We can enjoy our "morally-neutral actions having disastrous consequences which are unforeseeable to the actors but all to obvious to the audience due to just enough extra info coming at the beginning animation and the ending narration" show together.
I'd call it our Dramatic Irony show, but internet has poisoned the well so thoroughly for the word "irony" that the fumes are making me woozy and it's not like we're paying by the letter here.

Magi 01
Wasn't very impressed until the second half. The less silly comedy and more serious business this has, the better. Magi 02 That killed whatever momentum they had going at the end of episode one. Also the soundtrack is booooooooooooooooooooooring. From the New World 02 (also known as Non-Sequitur: The Anime) I rather watch Beyblade than rolling rock. The ending song is the shiznitz! |

I don't like to say this these days, but this is a provisional "You just don't get it, maaaaaan."
I concur! Neat pictures with it, too.
As for Magi, I remember trying to read it years ago, I remember deciding not to continue very shortly, and I've forgotten why I did the latter but have no intention of watching the show to remind myself.

Ginga e Kickoff!! 23
Coach-kun being all tsundere, then comes back through the power of friendship.#thisisshounen Only gonna be 39 episodes? Code:Breaker 01 Quote:
re: censoring: so animals are on the same level as genitalia now? Code:Breaker 02 Starting to sense a formula with wacky school hijinx first, then serious business conspiracy shounen later. It's a bit like watching two different shows, except it kinda works here? lol @ Judge Dredd giving the toy to the baby to show he's a jerk with a heart of gold. This is Zetsuen's levels of pompousity. My bias against CGI rocks is showing up. Last edited by Regulus Tera; 10-17-2012 at 06:49 PM. |

Shin Sekai Yori ep 4:
Cripes, this is getting interesting now. "blah blah limitless potential blah blah" and then said limitless potential gets shown and oh geez it really isn't an exaggeration. |

So the first three episodes were the introduction, and this one was half transition to the plot and half the plot. I look forward to them figuring out
they can unseal their own powers, ain't nothin' but a mind trick,
which shouldn't take too long, given that
they figured out the whole "death feedback" thing within minutes of learning for the first time that human beings can in fact kill other humans.
And then everyone will want them dead, plot.
