First and foremost, congrats to you both for taking the winding road to matrimony. I hope your marriage is healthy and happy (and filled with gaming a plenty).

As for suggestions, my tastes are not yours so I'm not going to say "OMFG BUY DIS CAKE CAUSE IT'S TEH ROXXORS!" but I did do some web surfing and came up with some sites to peruse:

Wedding cakes by UK designer Franziska

I really don't know the pricing of these cakes, they could be expensive, but maybe for an idea of what kind of cake you'd like. Plus, if you do decide to buy from her, she's in the UK.

Do it yourself

Have someone who can bake? This site tells you how to back and frost a wedding cake yourself. If I was in the UK I'd so bake your cake!

Dresses

This actually has prices, I'm not sure how expensive these are because of the exchange rate.

Hope this helps!

Well, all I can say is congrats.
Personally, I'm not one for social ideas. This means that I can't give any advice related to your predicament. However minimalism would be smart, financially.

Wow.

Shiney. RaiRai (Or NinjaRai...I remember that old SN; though it's just an odd memory)

Married.

Congratulations! I know I haven't been around for as long as you two have been together, but I've seen and heard your two. Happy memories are all that I can recall you two sharing with us, and I've got no doubt that happy memories are all you two will make.

Good luck! This reminds me oddly of a movie.

PS: With all the talk of clothes and cakes, try to remember to wear appropriate shoes. Nothing so achingly fancy that you have trouble walking around, but no sandals either. Choose something that looks good, and feels good (which is advice that goes for everything else, I guess).

Whatever happens though, this will be a very precious day.

PPS: Get lots of pictures!

Well, I'm afraid that I don't have any wedding advice, but nevertheless, congratulations! It's good to see two people so happy together.

Now, then, remember what we told Cthulu in Evil Anonymous? "Never tell them your plans!"

Don't worry, Osterbaum, no evil overlord in history has managed to keep his plans secret. It must be a character flaw that we have to take to get our powers!

Man, I'd love to be there for the wedding.

I wouldn't mind taking a trip to the UK as well... maybe I can make it a study trip. "When English and American marital traditions meet"... should've taken those sociology classes, then it could work...

I really appreciate all the advice and suggestions in this thread. Thanks everyone.

I'm not scary in real life. I am very opinionated and I dislike rampant stupidity, but intelligent goofiness I am down with. This manifests in my actions online, as I krush all the stupid crap but generally let slide stuff which seems to reflect intelligent on the part of the poster.

Generally!
