Unless they nuke the filibuster which the Democrats all but promised to do so yeah no they are going to effectively ram everything through.

I'm not sure they will. Republicans have a problem now that they control all three branches of government. Midterm elections tend to come down hard on the controlling party, and with almost all of the seats up for grabs and two years of Trump rule, I doubt that they'd have it in them to get rid of the filibuster only to lose control of the place shortly thereafter and make the Democrats' job that much easier.

Imagine how much they can get done in the next two years without the Democrats gumming up the works. Like there's a certain shelf-life on outrage as well, look how many times they shut down the government over nonsense and nobody cared enough or even barely remembered. All the rape commentary and justification and latent (and blatant) racism, etc etc. They campaigned on hate, they won resoundingly on hate, and there's nothing preventing them from enacting hate.
It's not like they campaigned on sunshine and rainbows and are going to just be nice to the people of the country. They can do horrible stuff now and in 2 years when the next election happens most people who are in any position to do a goddamn thing about it will have forgotten or stopped caring or whatever. Or their ability to vote will have been legislated right the fuck out of existence ala NC.

They campaigned on hate, but Trump spent as much time campaigning on hate of THEM as he did anyone else.
If there's any sense left in them the GOP must at this point realize they can't keep prodding and supporting the groups they have been, because those groups are out for their blood as much as the democrats. "Drain the swamp" is not blue or red exclusive.

Working with him is not the same as working for him. If you think for one second that Warren's claws won't come out the second he tries to do something stupid, you're delusional. She's aware that he can be played, and is willing to play nice until it is time to play mean. |

I agree with Kim.
Fuck Trump and fuck everyone who voted for him. They don't want us to come together. They want us to fall in line.

GOP didn't work with Dems. Trump's presidency is the presidency of nazis, of klansmen, of people who want me and mine dead, of people who want the death of countless innocents.
You do not work with these people. You do not give them an inch. You fight them every step of the way. Anything less is cowardice.

How the fuck can we work with Trump? Any progress we've made is at best halted, but more likely it will be gutted by a republican-dominated government.
Sure, the unconstitutional things Trump wants to do are likely to get blocked. But what about everything else he wants to do? There is no silver lining here. If one can, it would be best to support grassroots movements and activism, but positive change from within the government seems unlikely. Although I blame Trump's victory squarely on his supporters, it is natural to wonder if fiery Bernie Sanders would have had a better chance than Hillary Clinton. Why the fuck did she run anyways? Why couldn't she just let the candidiate with an actual chance run? It's not like she didn't know she was unpopular. I'm not saying the bulk of the criticism she received was legitimate, mind, just that it was fucking there and the democratic party had to know that they were facing an enormous uphill battle to overcome it, when perhaps Sanders wouldn't have faced quite as much while being a lot more inspiring. Call me sexist or whatever but I would feel the same way if Clinton were a man. If you don't have charisma you're gonna get destroyed in the election because america is fucked.
