The defense calls one Nikose Tyris to the stands. He, like my client, is a much older member of the forums, and as such has had a longer time to get to know my client. I believe his testimony will help clear up some of the foggy portions of the trial.

Hello, Sorry I'm late. Let's get right to the point here, shall we?

My name is Nikose Tyris. I was part of the investigative Committee on POS industries, fully Pirate on a Stick Industries, potential membership upgrade to that of a moderator for the discussion forum.

POS Industries joined the forum on October 27th, 2005.
He is a quiet but determined figure, who did not ease his into his position on the forum- rather, the role of member stepped up to suit him properly. He quickly grew to be on a first name basis with the moderators and administrators, and is on friendly terms with them. He is polite to everyone who he meets, waiting to get to know a person before forming an opinion, rather than seeing and assuming.



Now then. The interesting thing is, his well thought out responses are not, in fact, in line with what this man is. POS industries takes the time to think out his responses, to be careful not to offend, and to banter witty statements with those that understand that what he says is humor. The catch is, [color=red]POS industries hates us all.



You have heard me correctly. He is an arrogant Jackass, with a god complex. He beleives himself to be the superior of every other member, and does not kow-tow to the likes of Shiney, RaiRai, Krylo, or Meister. He openly derides Fenriswolf.

Now, a core thing to realise, is that this isn't actually any different at all from how the other moderators act. He behaves in a very similar manner to the other moderators. There is much evidence of other moderators acting like dicks, and also evidence of other moderators (and also other members!) being overly harsh and tormenting to FenrisWolf.



For the qualifier of his personality and his actions, POS Industries is effectively Fully Qualified in comparison to other moderators based on attitude.

Now then, over the course of our investigations, we examined POS industries time spent online against the time spent online on the forums. Fascinatingly, despite having a severe and crippling addiction to MMO's, World of Warcraft primarily, he still manages to spend more than 70% of his time online actively accessing content on the Nuklear Power Forums. This study was performed on a 2 Month based study wherein POS industries had a job to attend with regular part time hours, as well as family activites to attend to.



When it comes to forum availability, POS Industries is available 70% of the time, compared to the second runner up of Fifthfiend who spends an active 66% of his time online on the forums.



Now, before I begin the final aspect of our investigation, I would like to present to our honorable judge a small donation on behalf of our client- Who has great respect for what you do and what you represent, which is a freedom and availabilty for justice and protection for all. Protection for all the little people, and their families. Like your family. Who currently reside at 2729 Laurel St.

POS Industries is a good man, and he understands how to enjoy himself. For that reason, he decided to host the Avatars 5 RP. He also enlisted the aid and resource of over 12 different people for designing aspects of the game, including Arhra, Phoenixflame, Myself, Flarecobra, and others. We were all informed that we would not be given any major mention but he did thank us specifically for our input, and for all input we gave. He also gave us minute favors in return for our assistance, for which we were all very greatful. POS Industries also aided many beginning roleplayers by not being biased in that they were beginners. He also happily assists anyone who sends him a PM asking his advice.



In short, POS Industries is an Asshole, a Cheat, a good samaritan, a bully, a preacher, and overall a jackass with a god complex but a good heart behind it. He'd make an excellent Moderator.

The testimony just given spent half of it's time painting Mr. Industries as a mean and smartassed man, then spends the next half of it doing the exact opposite, saying that the mannerisms he exhibits are 'par for the course.'


I cannot Cross-Examine a witness who shows both sides in a good light. Should I spend my time proving that Fifthfiend is neither ass nor good samaritan? Should I instead paint Krylo as both power-abusing and rational? I would sooner squeeze blood from stones, or maybe seek tears from Franziska von Karma.


So, well done Nikose, you've stumped any response I could have. But while I do not have a cross-examination, I would like to say one thing;


Your Honor, this testimony proves nothing.


The point of this thread is to prove that he is either fit or unfit to be a moderator. Pointing out his mannerisms as 'normal' to most mods does little to prove that he would be capable of power and of the responsibilities it carries. It says nothing of the possibility of the abuse of power by granting him moderator status on NPF.

In short, POS Industries is an Asshole, a Cheat, a good samaritan, a bully, a preacher, and overall a jackass with a god complex but a good heart behind it. He'd make an excellent Moderator.

He may be all of these things, but is he responsible? The testimony does little more than describe a normal human. He may be just as witty as the next moderator, but why not just elect DFM? Truly, when it comes to smartassery, I can assure you jackasses are not as rare as you would think.

Respect and Responsibility are things someone must be given, before he can adequately display the results of such trust. All my duty was, was to show that he was similar in form and function to our other moderators. Also, as I recall, aren't you one of the staunchest of those who argue that the current leadership isn't up to snuff?

I don't recall saying anything about the moderator team in this courtroom, Mr. Tyris. Even if I did, that has little bearing on the case at hand.


And even if I did, we are proving his ability to be responsible right now, in this courtroom. So unless you have some factual evidence to his capability rather than his mannerisms, I move that this testimony says nothing.

Ahh, you move so swiftly, you have forgotten how to check the documents attached to my testimony! You'll notice, if you can maneveur yourself to such a vantage point that you can observe, that POS Industries leads calm and civil Roleplays in the RPG section, and participates in a calm and reasonable manner in the discussion forum. If you'd like, I can provide several clearly labeled examples of this.



Frankly, the idea that you'd suggest that I would do my job in a half assed manner, especially when I was an unbiased party, is quite insulting. Especially after your own investigation brought up some less than spectacular results.
