Or your suspicions are correct and people are just photoshopping in bard to screw with you. I'm not really sure since this whole "missing bard" thing must have happened between the year or so I stopped reading 8bit. I honestly don't remember him in any of the earlier comics. |

My favorite thing about Bard was how whenever the other Light Warriors were in a battle with Bikke or someone, you'd just see him in the background playing his lute. He wrote some of the best battle lyrics. Him being in the background for a lot of those scenes was one of the reasons it was so easy to just edit him out.

haha, the comic where Bard actually fought that band of imps that kept messing with Garland? Shortest battle ever.

I started reading the comic right when Red Mage drew that map of Gurgu volcano. Besides major story arcs, going through the archive, so many things because a damn blur I completely forgot about the time they fought the giant near elf land by the time I reached gurgu. |

Bard entered the comic on the trip back to Corneria, he was supposed to sing praises of the Light Warriors (it's what his secret order or whatever did) and all the songs he sang of them were rather insulting (think of Brave Brave Sir Brian's minstrels). One of the funny things was while he never tried to do a battle, he wasn' close enough for the hadoken explosions and what not so the group would fly halfway across the world to where ever and he'd still have to walk. There were numerous just walking comics of Brian's with Bard. Although Bard was integral for beating Lich. If you notice, Lich is upset to be defeated by the Light Warriors.... but all that really happened was he got sucked down to Hell where he rules unchallenged. Does that sound like defeat?
No. To answer some of the above Bard questions, yes, Bard fought the forest imps, it's why they aren't in the comics much anymore, they were badly defeated. He was in the background for most comics, however, some ofhis lines were stolen by other people and his sprite replaced. I think Brian planned that ever since he made him, so he made two comics back then, one with and one without bard so the going back and editing was really really easy. I checked through my harddrive and I no longer have that archive. I've had to switch comps for college, my apologies. Someone here should have it. As for the authenticity of the posted pics, I can't say, i'm not an expert. I always though Bard was done in a lil sloppy though by Brian, prolly because he made the comic without him, and with him, and so he was done quickly. We never noticed then because he seemed perfectly normal. Bard was my favorite character, he had some very funny lines. |
