Roy beat PRIDE, not lust. :P
And Roy 2D Scar 4D Roy is no less than 3....He brought himself back from the brink of suicide, began a rise to power, and then risked his hard work to stop Pride.... Scar isn't more than 3 on a good day..... "Alchemist killed my village, I kill them!" REALLYYYYYY original there. :P His best points were after losing limbs when he saved Al.

Dimensions invoke character change. Roy had an essential character that changed once through the series. Scar had several character realizations that advanced within the plot itself. Regardless of how much you may like a character, Roy only changed after 1 notable event in the series, which everyone remembers. I can't name on one hand how many times Scar shifted with the plot.
This is how character dimensions work -- they add more facets to the character. You can still like Roy more. Quote:

He killed Lust. Ripped her philosopher's stone heart out(badassly), then attempted to heal Havoc with it(3d characterishly). Then he used Havoc's cigarette lighter to start a fire because his glove was wet. I've heard the manga differs from the anime, that might be why.
3D characters have muliple facets, too. Scar=Avenger Roy= Lecher with commitment issues , Ambitious-but-somewhat-rightous-schemer, budding romance with Hawkeye, leader-devoted to his subordanates, man-seeking-redemption-for-past-crimes...

Attempting to heal a character previously set up as said character's friend doesn't add a dimension to that character. It matter of factly makes them stay in the same dimension.
Right, retroactive change. You can undercut all you want. All of those things Roy had he had at the very beginning of the series. He changed with Hughes Death, thus giving him 2Dimensions. Scar changed more often and was more reflective of the plot. Ed is also a 4D (4D includes anyone at 4 and higher) character. Just because a character has more dimensions doesn't mean you have to like them more, though, so I don't see what the big defense here is. Static characters are needed in a series. God why does this keep happening in the RaiRO forum. Just PM me if you want to talk about this anymore.
