I'll be honest. While I'm a big fan of Penny Arcade's thrice-weekly funnies, I think that The Trenches is kind of godawful. They're trying to do a storyline, but they haven't gone anywhere with it, and the poor attempt at following a plotline takes away from their ability to set up jokes properly.
Like, is this Jerry Holkins' actual writing style? I know he's the "words" aspect of Penny Arcade, and I know he's always verbose and brooding and he ACTS like a big-name writer. But his name is in the credits of The Trenches, a series whose absolute worst aspect is its shitty writing.
